Short sighted attitude

This is a Radisson you would have thought was the Aman in NYC. Stopped by to check it out while in Cartagena ( for my next stay ) and have a drink at the bar. The door was as far as I got. Apparently wearing a Tshirt and sneakers 200 yards from the beach is enough to stop you gaining entry even if, like me, you run a company. Needless to say I won’t make that my next Cartagena hotel stay. This is a very nice hotel in Cartagena. The location is a couple miles from the walled city - you may have to take a cab. But there are several eating establishments and souvenir shops nearby. The hotel itself is very nice. It is clean and has air conditioning which you'll appreciate because Cartagena is hot. The rooms are spacious with lots of room to spread out. The staff is helpful and accommodating. They have a buffet breakfast which was delicious - eggs, sausage, fruit, bread, cheese, meats, juice, potatoes, etc. The hotel has a couple different restaurants. We only tried the one for breakfast because there were several places to eat close to the hotel.There are deer, tucans, and peacocks around the grounds. The grounds are lovely and peaceful.Bathroom and floors are clean. We would definitely stay here again. A beautiful place to visit

Cartagena is a beautiful place lots of great food and sites to see. Make sure you check out the Emerald Museum and chocolate museum. Our stay at this hotel was incredible! My husband and I came to celebrate our honeymoon and my birthday! Our room was decorated with rose petals and balloons upon our arrival, and a gift was waiting for us. I was congratulated with a cake and candle at breakfast! Elegant older property with lovely grounds , but not 4 or 5 star.

Fantastic staff, very clean, good beds.Breakfast was fine. Not great, but fine.This is an old, but elegant property where all the modern amenities, such as plug ins for devices are not expected.Staff are very helpful and polite.Issues preventing higher review are: No bottles of water, (this is an expectation at a high end hotel, especially in a city where you can't drink the tap water) .Rooms (more than 1 in our group) had hair conditioner, but no shampoo.The property is large and could benefit from direction signs.My shower did not work properly - only the hand held piece worked.No convenience shop on the premises - have to walk a few blocks to get water.
