Location: Good location, within walking distance to restaurants and a shopping mall. • Staff: Polite and well-intentioned, acted fast when needed although limited in what they can do. For a booking for two people, only 1 access card was provided; we were told a second card would require an extra fee. • Property condition: Extremely outdated. Tasteless décor, old architecture, and stained, worn furniture throughout. • Lobby scent: A very strong scent upon entering the lobby (resembling heavy Arabic/Indian spices) that may cause headaches for some guests. • Rooms: Very strange and impractical room layouts. • Maintenance issues: • First room had a noisy AC. A technician came but the issue wasn’t resolved, so we were moved. • A lamp needed a bulb replacement (we didn’t bother reporting it). • Second room had a splashing water tap, a safe that was already locked, zero hangers, and a discoloured towel placed in front of the shower (see photo). • Cleanliness: Windows were extremely dirty, to the point that you could barely see outside. • Pool: Water did not look clear or clean. • Breakfast: Acceptable for the price.• Gym: See photos. It’s outdoor, no fans & some broken & rusty machines • 2 beautiful Bengal cats are kept in a small glass-enclosed area & are allowed into the lobby twice a day for 1 hour each time (see photos). Their water, dry food, and litter box are placed too close each other, which cat owners know this is not preferred by cats. The cats did not seem happy. • Overall impression: The name “Dubai” and the exterior are misleading and suggest a modern, high-end experience that this hotel simply does not offer. Look elsewhere

For being Dubai, the furniture and the hotel are outdated and breakfast is a same and hard bread and cold sausage.

Definitely need to upgrade the hotel, the furniture, the bedding all needs to be updated. Please update hotel it’s in a good location centralized access to the mall small shops in small restaurants and the beach is good.

A COUPLE AT THE DUBAI

So with the name Dubai in the caption, I thought this would be one great hotel. Sadly, I was mistaken. The lobby is large but hot, no AC. There was a lot of people checking in and only one person working, so it took a while. The check in staff looked bored, I thought they were just hot. The room was old, smelled old and very disappointed in the quality, definitely needs a renovation. No restaurant BUT they have a buffet with a very limited selection. and did I say it was hot.

This is more a 3 star hotel. Very old building. Food was ok nothing to be hype about. AC was good in the room but not the lobby. Shower water was good. The beach waster is dirty. Area itself is so so. Many things i seen needs fixing. My first time in Cartagena, i wouldn't come back.

Great Stay with Amazing Views

Hotel Cartagena Dubai is a great option in Bocagrande, ideally located right in front of the beach. The food options were excellent—delicious and varied—and the rooftop views are absolutely stunning. The pool on the third floor also offers beautiful views and the staff were very friendly.The only downside was the cleanliness of the pool area. Unfortunately, some guests leave food around, attracting pigeons, and there were crumbs near the pool, which suggests that eating should be better regulated in that space. Despite this, everything else went smoothly, and it was an enjoyable stay overall.
