Great rooftop terrace bar and restaurant but ..

Its what you typically expect from boutique hotel. It's a block away from the entertainment area, so if you are looking for a quite room, make sure that you request a room facing towards the back. The euro pop music coming from the rooftop terrace may be brothersome as the room floors have a center area that open up to the rooftop. Breakfast selection is very good and the kitchen will prepare any omelette you like. Staff is friendly and helpful. I would have rated this hotel as a 5 except for the manager that was curt with us when we asked for the map of the area. He stated there were no maps and he is too busy to give us directions. Enough said.

Mi novio y yo nos quedamos ahi al llegar a Medellin, y Todd y Veronika nos recibieron como familia, super simpaticos, muy buena ubicacion! Great location, further away than the central, loud tourist area so really got a feeling of being in the real medellin and our hosts were so friendly and willing to answer any questions we had!recommended for anyone staying for a few weeks!thank you so much!

I would say this was a great hotel close to all the nice restaurants and bars. Good Wifi Clean and Nice rooms. The staff was excellent. They handled everything we needed (wasnt much they had it covered from the beginning) Excellent view of the city on the roof. I will always keep this on my list when I visit Colombia

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Art House for a month. It was generally a good place to stay as it was in a nice, safe and very central area. The other people staying there were all really friendly and interesting people. We stayed in the room on the terrace. The pros of staying in the terrace room is that it is quiet and private and you have your own bathroom and toilet. However, I would only recommend this room if you are a single person or two friends as, despite what Todd the manager told us, pushing two single beds together does not a king bed make. Especially when there are only single sheets. The terrace shower and toilet are also in the bedroom and separated by half a wall. This would be fine except we were told by Todd that we couldn't use the downstairs toilets as they were only for the other guests. This meant that one of us would have to leave the room if the other wanted to use the toilet (or stay and suffer the smells). It was doable, but bit of a romance killer. Todd and his girlfriend, Veronica, live in one of the rooms at the Art House. They are very friendly, approachable people and are more than happy to answer your questions, offer advice and make you feel welcome. Todd is usually working during the day on the balcony though, so you can’t always use this space. The shower isn't always hot and there is no hot water in the kitchen or a plug. I have been told that not all kitchens in Colombia have hot water, but many of the traveler apartments do, and I think with so many people cooking and using that area it is a bit of a no-brainer that you need hot water for hygiene reasons. Or at least a plug so so much water isn't wasted trying to wash dishes with cold water. The Art House is a good place to stay, but there is room for improvement.

The Arthouse, run by Todd and Veronika, is the perfect place to stay in Medellin/Envigado. Envigado is a wonderfully welcoming place and a far more rich environment than Poblado. You are on major bus routes to the centre of town and to Poblado. The Metro bus leaves from right outside the house. Supermarkets and veg sellers are within 3 mins walk. Todd and Veronika go out of their way to make you feel welcome and help in any way possible. The house is relazing and quite with plenty of space to relax and a huge tv for movies. I couldnt recommend a better place to stay for any length of time. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
