Hotel Really Needs Renovation and Hot Water!

Check in took forever as only one clerk was working. Only four people in front of me; however, took about 30 minutes from arrival to check in. The room was large; however, quite dated and worn out. The AC hardly worked. The water never became hot in the shower, most likely due to the aging infrastructure at the hotel. The breakfast buffet is quite ample and the servers very friendly. Also, the room rates did not match the reservations. Also, hotel does not honor Marriott elite benefits.The hotel is in a great location and connected next to a large shopping mall. Very Poor Service by the Front Desk Employee.

Very Poor Service...I check in around 2:00 pm. Not sure what was the name of the employee, but he tried to out smart me. He indicated because I am a platinum member he will upgrade me from a double bed to king size bed, when I booked it on line these two rooms where the same price...He must a thought I was stupid. Every time i called for service he never picked up the phone. Even though my profile said extra pillows and extra towels never got either request. At check out, he charged me $10 usd for two bottle of water from the mini bar. That was not a minibar that was a little fridge with water and NO PRICES. Everytime I tried to ask question at the front desk he was RUDE and ARROGANT. This was a same person I did not get his name but he was tall and skinny with a very dark complexion.THE SERVICE FROM FRONT DESK EMPLOYEE IS HORRIBLE!!!AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! Four Points by Sheraton Medellin is a beautiful property, in an upscale area of Medellin, spotlessly clean, with thoughtful, helpful staff. A special “shout out” to the bellman who helped us navigate a difficult situation with a taxi driver.”)Our room commanded an unbelievable view of the city, but, being a little afraid of heights, I did consider requesting a lower floor! Instead, after a few glances, I closed the drapes!Two suggestions: please provide more towels. One each is just not enough, and housekeeping did not understand my note (written in English) requesting more.And, the 2 tables in the open area adjoining the dining room were our favorite place to eat, but we had to request place settings and service there. I think it would be popular with other diners also, especially with those from colder climates like us.Thanks for a great stay!PS seasonal decorations were beautiful and tastefully done! Wonderful Experience in Medellin!!

We are really enjoying our stay at Four Points Medellin, thanks to Clara, Eliana, and Paola! All three went above and beyond to ensure we would be very happy guests, even before arrival! And the breakfast buffet has many delicious choices. The hotel is connected to an upscale mall with great restaurants making it very convenient for us. And the area around the hotel is walkable and scenic. All in all, we're having a great time here. Thanks again Clara, Eliana and Paola!
