Rooms, breakfast, and elevator

Some rooms in the hotel are not remodeled and have very old bathrooms, worn carpets, extremely old air conditioning that does not work, uncomfortable beds, and very thin mattresses. The included breakfast is not worth it; the portions are very small and the menu is very basic. The elevator is mostly out of order. It was super. The whole trip was great, the abn was very very clean and cute, the beach of the noses great. The fantastic walled city. Nice cheap hotel - can't complain

This is a three star hotel so basic and a little dated but generally clean and tidy. Staff were polite and helpful. The hotel is well located, just a block or two from the beach. The hotel restaurant was closed, maybe because it was low season but breakfast was good with fresh fruit and eggs cooked your requirement with a juice, coffee or hot chocolate. Note: Santa Marta is a somewhat poor region of Colombia which caters mostly for national tourism so not very many people speak English. Overall a good experience the only thing which let it down was that here are too many hustlers on the beach and everywhere aggressively trying to sell you things. We bought a tour to parque Tayrona but they took us to Buritaca. We later found out that this was because they limit the number of people allowed on the beaches in the national park per day. The tour operators are aware of this but they sell you the tour anyway and then take you to a different place. Terrible!!!! Hotel in El Rodadero - BEWARE!!!!
