Location

This family friendly hotel lies between La Fortuna de San Carlos and Arenal lake, with a view of the Arenal volcano. It is the ideal location for a relaxing holiday in the mountains and is only 7 km west of the city so that guests may enjoy the beauty of the region to the fullest.

Facility

A pleasant ambience awaits guests in 70 double rooms. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. Everyday necessities can be purchased at the supermarket. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park.     Meticulously maintained, if dated. Chill staff. Food solid. I used Uber successfully and saved money on transport.

    We spend 3 night in the Hotel . The rooms comfortable, clean . Bathrooms are very good. The hotel area has a very nice look, the gardens are beautiful and walking in the lodge area is a nice short walk The thermal baths are super, especially the bar in the middle , super fun to have a drink in the hot thermal water.

    Given all the options, I really wish this spot was better. Here’s some pros and cons. Came on vacation with my husband and 12 year old son. To be fair, we stayed at the luxe Parador in Quepos for 4 nights before heading here so we got spoiled! Pros:-Great views of the volcano- Friendly staff (except for reception - they felt a bit transactional )-Delicious food and cocktails. - Fantastic breakfast buffet- Lovely pool and many thermal springs and pools right on property! Including in your “backyard” for some rooms. Awesome swim up bar in the larger thermal pool! - Delightful exotic birds right on property - Close to downtown La Fortuna with rental car and activities -Fantastic spa mud massage (although the “spa” is literally one room/hut - which was kind of cute in a way!)- if you have little little kids, they have some nice playground equipment right next to the pool so you can watch them and still enjoyThe cons are what would make me avoid staying here again:- rooms could be nicer with a coat of fresh paint and more comfortable linens. The blankets are scratchy and sheets are stiff. I felt like I was at camp for the price we paid! The rooms feel run down. - you need to wear a waterproof paper wristband for your entire stay, even though they have a Gate at the entrance. Gross! Felt like they don’t trust guests. Previous hotel we stayed in was a real resort, just let us sign out for our services without needing wrist bands while on property. - only an outdoor gym. So when it rains…..- no self serve laundry. You can pay them to do it for you. Horrible for a family. - you cannot flush toilet paper in the toilet here. Which I know is common in many places here - but…disgusting! Especially since they don’t clean every day (every 3 days) unless you hang the sign out. Yes, we asked them to clean every dat.Just felt like this was less of a fantastic resort vacation experience than we expected for the price we paid. And with all the options in the area, I hope they up their game. But we enjoyed pretty much every staff member we met!

    I lead a group of 26 people of various ages and our travel agent recommended this hotel. We all loved it. The grounds are gorgeous with beautiful plants and so many birds to watch. The breakfast buffet was the perfect start to our days and we had several other meals at the restaurant which were all good. The pool areas and hot springs are very nice. We also had wonderful spa treatments and I highly recommend the spa services! Would stay here again!

    This is such a beautiful resort with plants so colorful and pretty and peacocks roaming around. They had multiple level hot springs and some were really hot. The bar was pretty cool and patios for every rooms gave a beautiful view to nature.
