    Outstanding food & service!

    rating05 Apr 2026

Rooms, food & staff were amazing! It was quite far from the airport but it was a pleasant airconditioned van.The rooms were basis but appeared very newly done. No bugs anywhere. The food was top quality & varied everywhere even on the buffet. Meat was tender & plentiful, as were the salads, desserts. We did the Italian restaurant & we highly recommend it.Everything was very clean everywhere.Tours available at front gate. We advise booking with them over an advance tour which we did with TripAdvisor & we were very disappointed. Many others had great experiences at gate tours. It would be helpful if they opened a juice bar or alcohol bar near adult pool before 5:30 but it didn't affect us much. No kids running around unattended & plenty of chairs. Beach not great for shade or swimming but still a perfect place to unwind & relax.Very quiet most of the time around pool.

    Would not go back

    rating04 Apr 2026

This was our first stay at an all-inclusive resort, and it was extremely disappointing. I'm glad we stayed only one night, right before our flight home. The resort was run down. We stayed in a standard family room. Our bathroom was dated with peeling paint and holes in the walls. The room and furniture were very tired, with what appeared to be mold on the ceiling. Windows were dirty. Motel 6 quality accommodations for sure. The resort is located in a rough area, and there is nowhere to go outside of it. The tennis courts were run down. The kids' area looked unkempt. The beachfront was nice, but the pools were always super crowded. The beach did not look very inviting, as I saw a guy walking down and throwing up along the way. The pier was nice, and we took some nice pictures during sunset. The teen area was decent. It seems they are definitely orienting themselves to the locals, since not everyone spoke English, and the pool party activities were all in Spanish. Looked like a lot of people were there on day passes and didn't stay at the resort. There were no English-speaking channels on TV.The food was plentiful, with some local dishes. The quality was ok, but it definitely looked like they recycled items from lunch to dinner at the buffet. The best part of the stay was the friendly staff, who we could tell worked very hard.

    Hidem gem

    rating03 Apr 2026

We really liked the hotel; it's a hidden gem. We stayed at the Fiesta Resort for a full week and it was great. From Puntarenas, we were able to travel to Monteverde, San José, and the Poás Volcano. We tried to go to Tortuga Island, but we were scammed by a company called Coco's Tours. Do not book with them; they are extremely negligent and don't care about risking lives for money. All the other tours from the hotel were fantastic. Our top favorite was the one to Poás Volcano.I recommend the hotel for its location and food. Eidel Ramos, General Manager at Fiesta Resort, responded to this review Dear Felipe:Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience. We are truly delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay and that you consider our hotel a hidden gem.It is a pleasure to know that during your week with us you were able to explore destinations such as Monteverde, San José, and Poás Volcano, and that the excursions organized from the hotel met your expectations, especially your visit to Poás Volcano. We sincerely regret the experience you had with the external company Coco's Tours. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, as this type of feedback is very important to us. Please rest assured that we take this information into account to continue recommending only reliable providers to our guests. We are also pleased to know that our location and gastronomic offerings were to your liking. We look forward to welcoming you again very soon for another excellent experience.Kind regards,

Take poor reviews with a grain of salt!

    rating28 Mar 2026

We just came back from a 1-week all-inclusive vacation at Fiesta Resort. I must admit, after reading the reviews ahead of time, I wasn't sure what we'd be in for. I am happy to report that based on OUR experience, we couldn't have been more happy with our choice! We stayed on the Premium side of the resort (building 3) which meant that we had bar service (not just around the pool, but on our little patio which faced the pool), a la carte restaurant options, and access to a breakfast and lunch restaurant called La Macarela. Our room was fairly basic, and was kept clean each day. Other than not having to get up to get our own drinks, there was nothing extravagant about the Premium option. It appeared as though our side was quieter than the other, but there was room for everyone. The resort staff were lovely. Sometimes there was a language barrier, but many used their smartphones & Google translate to communicate. I found that if you made an effort to smile, say "gracias" or "ola," anyone we encountered reciprocated the gesture. No complaints at all.A few other points to mention:-the airport transfer can be anywhere from a 2-4 hour drive (even if the distance from the airport to the resort is <150kms.) There is currently alot of construction and lots of traffic delays. -If you're looking for a beach resort, this one is not for you. Reasons being, rough waters, less than optimal water for swimming in, black sandy beach, excess heat, etc. etc.We thought the food was great! We dined in the a la cartes most nights, but we also explored the buffets throughout. I wouldn't consider myself a super adventurous person when it comes to food, am usually iffy on fish/seafood, but honestly, there are many options to choose from so you won't go hungry. To wrap up, while our experience was positive, I'm not questioning those who had legitimate issues based on their experiences. What I do sometimes wonder is if some travellers have high or unreasonable expectations when travelling to another country. For us, Fiesta Resort in Costa Rica was a great choice that we would recommend to others. Eidel Ramos, General Manager at Fiesta Resort, responded to this review Dear Guest,Warm greetings, and our sincere thanks for taking the time to share such a detailed review of your recent stay with us.We are truly delighted to know that, despite your initial doubts, your experience exceeded your expectations and that you fully enjoyed your vacation at our resort. We are proud to know that, despite possible language barriers, our staff was able to provide you with warm and attentive service, reflecting the spirit of hospitality that defines us.We are glad to hear that you enjoyed our culinary offerings and the variety available in our restaurants and buffets. We also truly appreciate you sharing helpful observations regarding the airport transfer and the characteristics of our beach, as these certainly help other travelers set clearer expectations. We deeply value your recommendation and your thoughtful reflection on travel expectations, which we find very meaningful. It will be a true pleasure to welcome you again in the future and continue providing you with memorable experiences.Sincerely,
