    Overall a great time!

    rating06 Apr 2026

The spa services were amazing! Noe & Marilyn took excellent care of my wife and I. Definitely a 10 out of 10 for the spa services. The food was good. I would give it a 9 out of 10. The rooms were great as well. I will give them a 10 out of 10.The resort also offers guided activities, such as snorkeling and kayaking, which were also a highlight of our stay. The resort guides, Cherry, Daly, and Anderson, were very attentive and knowledgeable, and very encouraging when it comes to participation. My only drawback was having to take the shuttle everywhere you go because the resort is very spaced out and there are a lot of heels.Overall, this is a very beautiful resort and a very wonderful experience that we’ve had there. The people working on the resort made our experience one of the best we’ve had. Final shoutout to all the shuttle drivers who keep the resort running. We will definitely be coming back when we visit Costa Rica again.. This would’ve received a full five stars if the locations on the resort were more accessible.

    Great vacation!

    rating06 Apr 2026

Secrets tried exceptionally hard to meet our needs. As a timeshare owner elsewhere, we did expect the room to be more than a "hotel style" room. Although it was a nice room, it was very small. The all inclusive met our needs. The Italian restaurant was superb! We also enjoyed the hibatchi one night. The pools were clean and the entertainment was top notch. You will need to use the shuttle to get around. It came in a timely manner. Get out and do some excursions! Beautiful country.

A beautiful and Peaceful Escape great outdoor adventures!!

    rating06 Apr 2026

This was our second visit to Secrets Papagayo, and it was even better than the first. The food was outstanding, and we experienced excellent service in every restaurant. The staff throughout the resort are friendly, attentive, and highly efficient, always making us feel welcome. The entertainment team did a fantastic job creating a fun and lively atmosphere, ensuring everyone was enjoying their stay.Housekeeping truly stood out as the best we have ever experienced at any resort. Our room was always cleaned early in the morning and kept spotless and comfortable throughout our stay. The grounds are absolutely stunning, and the spa area is incredibly peaceful and relaxing—perfect for unwinding.During our stay, we also looked for some outdoor activities and found NextTripCR.com. We booked several excursions with them, including a visit to Rincón de la Vieja Volcano, waterfalls, and a rainforest tour to see sloths. Everything was perfectly organized. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly, transportation was private, punctual, and very clean, and the prices were very reasonable. We highly recommend this hotel for couples looking for a relaxing and memorable experience, and Nexttripcr.com for anyone wanting to explore and enjoy outdoor adventures in Guanacaste.Thank you for an incredible two-week stay—we hope to return again someday!

    Wonderful week in Paradise

    rating05 Apr 2026

The staff at the resort were top notch. They were always happy to help. Cherie and Anderson had us busy with activities that varied throughout the day from painting to dancing to karaoke. The resort itself was well maintained and set in a quiet paradise. Walks to rooms were long but it offered a great deal of privacy as it is spread out with jungle and nature in between the bungalows. There is a shuttle available but might be hard if mobility is an issue as the resort is built into a hillside. The ocean was quiet as it is in a bay and so good for swimming and snorkelling (snorkels available for guest use). The food was good. The Italian and hibachi restaurants were the best. Our room was clean and had a beautiful view. Overall, it was a wonderful resort and the best part was the staff who made us feel like family.

Gorgeous Property, But Expect Extra Costs

    rating05 Apr 2026

My husband and I recently stayed at this all-inclusive resort and overall had a good experience, but there are a few things worth noting for future travelers. The property itself is beautiful, the staff is friendly, and the overall atmosphere is relaxing—exactly what you’d hope for in a getaway. However, there were a few limitations that took away from the “all-inclusive” feel. One of the biggest downsides was that some dinner options required an additional cost. While the standard dining was decent, it would have been nice to truly have all restaurants included without extra fees.Another inconvenience was the seaside grill being restricted to preferred members during breakfast hours. This was disappointing, as it’s one of the best locations on the property and should be accessible to all guests, especially during such a prime time of day.In terms of activities, I do wish there were more water sports available. For a resort in such a great location, expanding these offerings would really enhance the guest experience.Lastly, the cabanas being limited to preferred members felt a bit exclusionary. These are a great way to enjoy the pool or beach, and it would be nice if they were available to all guests, even if on a reservation or first-come basis.Overall, it’s a solid resort with a lot to offer, but a few changes—especially around inclusivity of amenities—would make the experience feel more aligned with the all-inclusive promise.
