    Loyalty Deserves More Than Two Bottles of Water

    My first night at the Crowne Plaza La Sabana was satisfactory, though not without disappointment. Despite being an IHG member, no upgrade was offered — attributed to an event taking place at the hotel. The only complimentary gesture was two bottles of water; not so much as a small snack was included.The following day, when I requested additional water, I was told that tap water in Costa Rica is potable. That may well be true — as it is in France, Italy, and many other developed countries — yet water is still routinely provided in those hotels. Guests traveling internationally cannot be expected to immediately adapt to a new water source, regardless of its safety.The room itself did little to lift the experience. Dull and uninviting, it was not helped by tired brown carpeting that felt out of step with what a Crowne Plaza should offer. On a more positive note, the bed was genuinely comfortable, and the restaurant staff provided good, attentive service — bright spots in an otherwise underwhelming stay.Overall, the experience left me feeling that this property operates with a minimal-effort approach toward IHG members — a standard well below what loyalty should reasonably expect.     Landed in San Jose for few days before heading to a jungle retreat. This hotel was a lovely place to stay the room was good standard and clean but what makes the stay is the lovely staff all over from reception, bar staff and helpful managers. In particular Nancy was just so warm and friendly made our group feel very welcome. San Jose there's not necessarily much going on but hotel staff helped us find what we were looking for. We ate at the hotel mostly as the food was amazing from the flank steak at the restaurant to the japanese restaurant on site.     Comfortable stay with plenty of amenities!

    We had such a great stay here!We stayed in a room with two queen beds, which was super spacious and really comfortable. Everything felt clean and well maintained.The included breakfast was SO good. Lots of variety, everything fresh, and just an easy, enjoyable way to start the day without having to think about it.We also tried the teppanyaki restaurant on our first night and loved it. Such a fun experience and the food was delicious. It was a great way to kick off our stay and something I would absolutely recommend doing while you’re there.The staff really made the experience though. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, but a special shoutout to Scarbeth at the front desk. She was incredibly helpful, gave great information, and just made everything feel easy from the moment we arrived.Included parking was also a great perk and made things really convenient for us.

    Unclean shower with pubic hair. Minor problem but my 1 star review is more about the terrible terrible IHG website which is buggy and doesn't allow me to change my email address. Wasted 20 minutes trying to talk to the useless bot customer support from 1991.
