  We arrived to the hotel right at check in time. We arrived via Uber from the SJO airport. The Uber pickup was easy from the area across from the terminal. The hotel is a distance from the SJO airport. I thought the hotel location was nice, if you didn’t want to walk too far away from the area of the property. Check in and check out went well. All employees we made contact with at the hotel were very nice. The check in area, including a bar, and breakfast room, are on the 2nd floor. Our room was wonderful. It looked good, and smelled good. Quite spacious. Everything worked well. The window overlooked the pool area, and towards the area of the SJO airport. The breakfast was a bit pricey, however, it was an excellent breakfast. Plenty of options. Even though the surrounding area did not seem super pedestrian friendly, the couple of newer buildings nearby housed several dining, drinking, and entertainment options. We enjoyed our 2 night stay.

  Beware: Party Hotel

  We came back for an additional night due to construction at our house. There was were two very loud parties going on. We got placed in a room on the 3rd floor, directly above one of parties. We were told it would end at 10 p.m. It was around 7:30 p.m. when we checked in. We will wait.10 p.m. comes and goes. Still loud. Still booming. Our room is shaking. Went to talk with the manager and he said the party will be going until at least 11 p.m. or midnight. He can't move us because they are sold out. I asked him to refund our points we used to buy the room. He says yes and then asks if we are checking out. I say no and then he tells me he won't be able to refund them now. He told me I'd have to come back in the morning (of course when he is not there).This is horrible customer service. I'd think twice about booking this hotel for fear you might end up here on a party night.

  We were unhappy with the hotel in many aspects. They sent a receipt showing that I'd been charged again for the same stay I'd already paid for in advance, without telling me at the desk. I had told them when we arrived that I was prepaid and the front desk acknowledged that. It turned out someone sent that bill by mistake and I wasn't doublecharged, but it was an unpleasant experience.We'd already felt a sense of mistrust toward the hotel. When we reserved we thought breakfast was included (standard in Latin America) especially because the daily rate was not cheap. When we arrived they said we had no breakfast included but could add it for an extra US$50 a day. That seemed suspicious at the outset since I was sure it included breakfast when I reserved. Prices kept changing for no apparent reason and mystery fees were added. They put us in a room by the pool that was small and that had strange noises coming from the pipes constantly. We asked to change rooms the next day and they moved us to a much nicer room, which was positive.Also on the positive side, the place is clean and the food pretty good. But service is arbitrary (the first day they didn’t charge for coffee, the next they did). I realized the second day that they didn’t include hash browns in my breakfast the day before. They charge a 10% “service fee” but apparently that is not the tip for the personnel. If you want room service you have to pick it up yourself. I will try to avoid going back to a Hilton hotel.

  My Worst Hilton Experience So Far – Please Read Before Booking

  I chose this hotel for a weekend getaway after seeing the promotions on social media, but the experience was disappointing from the moment I tried to book. The offer could only be applied through their call center (Monday–Friday), and even the hotel staff didn’t know how to process it. I ended up booking a different promotion through the website — one that included a $30 bar credit — but nobody at the property knew anything about it.When I arrived at 2:30 p.m., the front desk trainee wasn’t aware of the rate, disappeared multiple times, and at 3:05 p.m. still told me I “had to wait until 3.” From 3 to 6 p.m. I went back and forth by WhatsApp and in person just to clarify what was included. Only at 6 p.m. did they confirm a voucher. At the bar, I was told that food wasn’t included — something never mentioned anywhere.What frustrated me the most: there was no manager or supervisor on duty for the entire weekend. The highest-ranking person available was the receptionist. Every question required someone to “check with reception” again, and no one took ownership. Even at checkout, staff recognized the issue but couldn’t offer any solution.Yes, the pool is heated and the location is good, but the lack of governance, coordination, and basic customer service overshadowed everything. As a Hilton Honors member, this has been my worst experience to date.If you book through the Hilton website from Costa Rica, double-check every promotion — the hotel itself may not recognize it.

  Beautiful views and modern hotel

  This place is nice. Very clean and spacious with everything you need on site. The beds are comfortable, the room is modern and the bathroom is very nice. This place is centrally located in a square with plenty in shops and a bank downstairs. Full bar, restaurant and even conference rooms in the hotel.
