Fit our needs

We arrived very late (after 1 AM) due to flight delays and the hotel staff did well to make sure we had our airport transfer (which they arranged) and had someone onsite to let us into the gated property. The suite we rented fit our family of five, although the amenities were basic. Breakfast was good if simple. As noted by others, there is not much to do in the area, but it's a good choice for a quick stop before or after flights from SJO airport.

Not a great hotel !

Stayed 2 nights in this hotel. It has no electricity between 8AM and 1PM : this means no hot water, no TV, no Wi-Fi, no air conditionning etc. The day of our departure, the manager was not happy for my friends and I to extend our check-out time to 2PM (instead of noon) as our flight was at 6:30PM and our taxi were due to pick us up at 2:30PM. Shower by the swimming-pool does not work. Not really anything to do in the area.

Great hotel but ask for a room on the right looking up at reception

Booked by tour company Exodus for the start and last night of tour of Costa Rica. The rooms we had, 18 and 7 looked very similar and were clean with just one seat outside which is odd when the rooms had a double and single bed, so I had to take a stool or chair from inside if we both wanted to sit outside. NB Rooms 6 to 12 roughly on the left are best avoided if you can, ask for a room to the right roughly 14 - 20… we were in room 7 and there was a lot of banging and crashing from 0200 to 0430 ish accompanied by dogs barking to the back and seemingly on the roof, not in the hotels control but I would only have a higher number room if staying again as they back onto land not a property.The staff are all lovely and helpful. The food simple Cuban food but nice. Wine and beer are available. As is WiFi. A lovely swimming pool. Two other restaurants within a short walk too.

Picturistic, ideal for first time Costa Rica visitors! Love the greenery, the pool. Casitas very cute, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great with fresh fruit, rice, beans and eggs. Lovely patio available. Safe and lighted parking available.

Relaxing and close to San Jose town

A quick and easy drive from San Jose airport after a long flight. Beautiful garden, lovely pool and comfortable rooms. Relaxing at the pool gives you a glimpse of the beautiful birds and their bird song - very peaceful.The breakfast is typically Costa Rican served with good coffee. There is a small on-site restaurant as well, serving lunch and dinner - enjoyed my chicken ceasar salad and fresh pineapple juice. This is my second time staying at Hotel La Rosa as part of a cycling group and once again it didn’t disappoint.
