Location

This charming hotel enjoys a fabulous location at the heart of San José within a short distance of the business, shopping and entertainment districts. This is the ideal point from whence to explore the city's cultural sights, which include theatres and museums. Juan Santamaria international airport is 15 minutes drive away and a bus stop is to be found just 200 m away.

Facility

Guests have a choice of 67 rooms located in a 4-storey main building and an auxiliary building. English-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. A lift and wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are a number of shops as well. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Other services include a 24-hour security service, a babysitting service, a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, room service, a laundry service, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. The business centre is on hand for guests' business requirements and provides a fax machine.

Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning. All rooms are carpeted and include a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Additional features include a refrigerator, a mini fridge and a tea/coffee station. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels, a radio, an alarm clock and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. A turndown service provides guests with additional comfort in the evening hours. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. A hairdryer, a vanity mirror and bathrobes are available for daily use. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. Guests can also book wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. Family rooms are available for parents with children.

Sport

Fine weather can be enjoyed on the terrace. The hot tub in the pool area promises pure relaxation. There are many ways to relax or stay active at the hotel, including golf, a gym, table tennis, aerobics, a spa and hydrotherapy treatments. A dance club and a casino are also options for entertainment.

Meals

Dining facilities include a restaurant with air conditioning, a café and a bar. Catering options include bed and breakfast, half board and full board. Breakfast, lunch or dinner can be booked. Vegetarian dishes and children's meals can be prepared on request.

    The hotel has a warm and comfortable atmosphere. The common areas are very clean and well maintained, and the rooms are cozy, spotless, and thoughtfully prepared. Everything feels organized and cared for, which makes the stay even more pleasant.One of my favorite parts of staying at Hotel Palma Real is the breakfast—it’s delicious, fresh, and generously served. It’s the perfect way to start the day, and the quality is always consistent.Another huge advantage is its central location. Being so close to key areas of the city makes it extremely convenient, whether you’re traveling for business or leisure. Despite being in a central spot, the hotel still offers a peaceful environment where you can rest comfortably.     Went to Palma Real Hotel in June. Was getting dental work done at Prisma Dental. They recommened the hotel. It was about 20 minute walk from hotel to dental office. The hotel offered free breakfast until 10AM. The staff were very nice. Rooms were very clean and they have the best firm beds I have ever slept in. Should have got the name of the mattress company. Everything at hotel was great. Only a few channels on TV in English so limited to what I could watch. Great Italian and Chinese restaurant just down the road. I will definitely stay there again when I go back.     We only stayed at the hotel for one night - as the start of our round trip through Costa Rica. The rooms were clean and functionally furnished - the beds were very comfortable. Only the shower could do with a bit more power - it also flooded the whole bathroom. The food in the restaurant was good - but there are certainly better and cheaper options out there. Breakfast was - according to Costa Rican standards - ok, but nothing special.The hotel was absolutely adequate for one night - price-performance also okay.     Pleasant, avoid floor 1, 2 near elevator

    Staff was very friendly. Room was ok. Avoid rooms on 1st or 2nd floor near elevator and reception if you have an early flight. Bar and reception area especially noisy. That is my review.
