This charming hotel enjoys a fabulous location on the outskirts of San José within a short distance of banks, museums, shopping centres and La Sabana park. It is just 15 minutes to the airport and some 200 m to the nearest links to the public transport network.

Facility

The hotel has 10 suites, 9 single rooms and 21 double rooms, which are located on 4 storeys and are reachable by lift. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a supermarket, are great for shopping or just browsing. Parking facilities available to guests include a garage and a car park. Rooms

    This rating has to do with what really matters- the staff and how in a tough situation they are there for their guests. We flew in CR and had arranged a car service to pick us up- all great. Got to hotel and it had been redone and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Getting ready for bed I was flossing- heard a “clink” and realized that my crown had failed off and gone down the drain! Panic! I was leaving the next day to go the jungle to hike for a week and the bare nerves left with a crown covering would render me in incredible pain and unable to drink or eat. Eek- that means we had to fish out the crown from the drain trap! We contacted the desk and a man appeared with a wrench and miracle of miracle the crown was located! They brought up bleach to clean (you really don’t want a visual) and provided suggestions for pharmacy to get adhesive and antibiotics. Crazy. All worked out. When we returned a week later the desk clerk laughed and asked how I did. Mind you this was the same poor man who had to read my multiple emails clarifying transportation-Life was hectic and I just wasn’t tracking well! He made a joke of it and was so kind. The location is convenient and the room clean. The staff is the best and when you need support they are there- highly recommend.

    A very modern and professional hotel on the edge of San Jose downtown close to some parks and stadium. Nice and comfortable rooms. Delicious buffet breakfast.

    The Parque del Lago was a good experience. The staff was friendly and always acted immediately on requests. Location is well placed, 25 minute walk from museums and markets, and 20 minute drive from the airport (non rush hour). Rooms are clean and the restaurant is good. I will stay there again when I visit Costa Rica. The atmosphere was not that of a developing nation, as were some other places we stayed. The value of the experience was very good, fair price for the accommodation. Noise level was a bit high at certain times of the day, but I slept fine without noise annoyance. Amenities were a bit sparce, Gym is minimal, but adequate for the amount that I wanted to workout :), and there isn't much of a shop in the hotel or a business center. Still, I wouldn't let that stop me from staying again.

    Good transfer to hotel from airport. Nice neighborhood near park and museums. Staff very nice. We liked the restaurant and the rooms were air conditioned and very spacious

    Perfect spot for a short term stay in San Jose

    This is such a sweet, no frills, well located, family-owned hotel with a very charming staff. We stayed for 3 nights total, two nights at the beginning of a tour and one night at the end. The park right across the road is peaceful and filled with families playing soccer or picnicking and a nice respite from the hecticness of San Jose. Rooms are quiet and have all the essentials. Breakfast is good and staff is lovely.
