Location

This hotel is located in the centre of San Jose, just 400 m from the city and tourist centre. A pleasant beach lies about 90 minutes from the hotel, a tranquil lake is 10 minutes away, and a wonderful wooded area through which a river flows is also only a 30 minute drive away. Numerous shopping facilities, the Mulitplaza shopping centre, the Jade and the Gold Museum as well as links to the public transport network are all within 5 minutes of the hotel. A range of shops, restaurants, pubs, and nightclubs are all located in the vicinity. Juan Santamaria airport is some 18 km from the hotel.

Facility

The hotel has 4 suites, 42 single rooms and 44 double rooms, which are located on 4 storeys and are reachable by lift. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions.     This hotel was clean and perfect for a one night stay before heading to the airport the next day. It was not fancy, but it was clean and the location was great for walking to restaurants. We had 14 people and they were very accommodating of our large group. It was a 30 minute ride to airport (with no traffic).

    We stayed here for 2 nights as we started our two week trip to Costa Rica.It was an ok stay. Room was clean and the aircon worked although everything was a little dated. Breakfast was ok, buffet style with a few local cuisines to try.The hotel is gated and guarded and we felt a bit unsafe wandering around in the evening. We were pickpocketed the second day so would prefer a different area if we came back.The gardens were lovely though and the staff were very nice. We had no issues with noise from the casino - we were fast asleep!!

    Your standard 3-star American-style chain hotel. San Jose isn't blessed with the most interestig downtow area, but this hotel is located a few minutes walk from most of the main sights, and is about 15 minutes walk to the Bario Escalante area which is full of nice shops and restaurants.Rooms were clean, comfortable and the air-con worked. About the only negative is that the hotel seems to be used by lots of tour groups, so breakfast can get very busy in the mornings at certain times.

    Arrived in San Jose after 20 hours of travelling, extremely exhausted! Check in fine , staff helpful, room clean, but tired and stuck in the 1980’s. Breakfast adequate. However we settled in the room and lights out at 21:00. At 21:30 the disco music started, we think from the casino next door and it went on until 03:00 hours. So not a lot of sleep was had.

    Basic city center hotel, staff helpful, breakfast okay room tired and stuck in the 1980s . However , we arrived after 20 hours of travelling, just wanted to sleep! Relaxed in room then lights out at 21:00. Half an hour later the Casino which is next door opened and the music commenced! Very loud and continuous until after 03:00, not much sleep had until complete exhaustion hit around 0300. We feel this is unacceptable and have advised our travel agent to not use this hotel for future clients.
