    Positive experience of Trpanj

    rating08 May 2026

Perfectly located hotel in the pretty town/village of Trpanj, facing the sea and small harbour. The tourist season and warmer weather hasn’t quite started in early May so that does limit activities a little. A rental car is a must, not only to travel from the airport at Dubrovnik but also to visit other places of interest. ( The road into and out of Orebic is a little hair raising if you’re unused to steep mountain roads). The road surfaces are generally excellent and towns and areas well signposted. There are a number of walking trails through the town and along the coastline which are delightful and with fabulous views of sheltered coves. One of the coves is apparently well known for its‘medicinal mud’ with its healing properties. The interior of the hotel is clean but somewhat dated and would benefit from some additional touches which shouldn’t be too expensive but would give that extra element of comfort to guests. For example, on cooler evenings, there is no indoor area to relax after the evening meal and the provision of rugs or light blankets on the terrace outside the cocktail bar would encourage guests to relax there and purchase drinks. All members of the staff team were friendly, polite and helpful and the all inclusive menu selection was adequate, although often the hot food could have been hotter. If visiting the area again in the future, I would be happy to stay at the hotel but would be keen to once again have a room on the lower floors, as there are a number of stairs and no lift.

    Greats views but that’s it

    rating25 May 2025

A hidden gem of a view surrounded by Mountains and the sea but 2 hours away from Dubrovnik and expensive if you want to venture out. It really is beautiful here in a quaint village but it was very far to do activities especially if you want to be in Dubrovnik.Food is meh, a little boring and basic. Room is basic, dated, went for the family room as two friends the single chair is a pull out, not much room to walk around. Tiny toilet with shower and a bad hairdryer. There are a couple of bars/cafes but these were used by the locals. The 2/3 restaurants near us were closed could be due to early season. You do have your own small private beach but there are no sun loungers and it’s pebbles no sand. You can fish here if you get a licence.Pool is quite small but hotel is small. On arrival we were met by a coach full of 40Kids on some sort of trip. They were very loud, rude no manners whatsoever, thankfully we were told they were only here for 2 nights but the fact you can’t group book here but allow 40 loud mouthed kids is ridiculous. Bar is self serve, you get a small handful of liquors, beer and soft drinks. Upstairs there is another bar with more drinks but you have to pay, still affordable. They do “cocktails” for an hour only per day very strong and not much choice. The snacks are for an hour per day these consist of fruit that’s been left out for a bit too long and biscuits. Definitely do your research about either renting a car etc if you plan to go to other areas if you are coming here even going by bus is a good 2-3 hours and ferries don’t seem reliable as they only run a few times a day to do things to go from Trpanj to Ploce cross the way.Ploce has numerous coffee shops and maybe 2/3 restaurants but that’s it. You can take a walk to the lakes but that’s as much as it has to be honest. No lifts are here, you need to go up about 4 flights of stairs outside before going up 3 more stairs to 2nd floor. I wouldn’t say this was rated as 3 stars more 2. For the view it’s worth it but everything else it is a let down. They advertise that you can do kayaking out the front or rent a boat but when asked at the hotel they said no. This could be due to the fact it was the middle of May but still. Hotel desperately needs an update. Water taxis would be a good idea rather than just a ferry now and again. I found that the locals would be not very welcoming unfortunately, it’s very clearly not a tourist place to go but at least make visitors feel welcome instead of making comments and making you feel uncomfortable. In the hotel restaurant terrace, everywhere in fact they allow smoking so you could be eating dinner with someone next to you smoking. The 2/3 bars and cafes they chain smoke in there, it’s very smoky and uncomfortable if you have asthma. You will come out stinking of cigarettes. I didn’t think you could smoke inside anymore but this area doesn’t seem to mind. If you enjoy a hike there is plenty of routes but they are unmarked so not the safest. I really didn’t want this to be a negative review but the only highlights for me were it was a dog friendly hotel so whilst I couldn’t do anything I could see cute dogs which made me happy and the views were absolutely incredible as we were up in the mountains. The worst hotel I've been to

    rating07 Oct 2024

The room is very dirty, yellow spots on the bed. Many bugs on the walls, no toilet paper, Curtains are a very ugly colour, the television is on German. and we have a window look at the wall. Don't recommend coming here. EW , we had random crumbs on the floor too. The lights are glued in for some reason, the lamps are super dusty. EBEN TI BOGA!!!

The hotel is fine, the animators should be chosen more carefully

    rating26 Aug 2024

We stayed for 3 weeks, at the turn of July and August. The hotel was cool, the people were nice and smiling, the great animators Karolina and Lucia, perfectly matched. Unfortunately, Lucia left and was replaced by another animator Nika, she was not involved at all from the beginning, everything was done by an animator from the Czech Republic. Then Nika started joining the evening disco for children, and to our surprise, she told everyone to rate her on Trip advisor, we wonder why? It could be seen that the girls did not understand each other very well, so Nika brought a friend who she had with her the whole time and started doing bingo as well, so that the other friend could film her doing bingo and the mini-disco, which for the first time that evening lasted for half clock. My husband and I were very surprised by this and said we would definitely write a review. In the end, the girl left the Czech Republic and Nika had to go and do aquagym. She chose the same music, but the dances were for children. rather to the kids club. You could see a lot of surprised people in the water that something completely different was being done and to make matters worse, Nika was doing aquagym for about 10 minutes because the music stopped playing. Not at all interested in what happened, she ended it and left. The people in the water did not understand what was happening at all. I think animators should be chosen more carefully and there should be some oversight of how they do their work. Lucia and Karolina were great for us, even if Lucia was missing a little smile, she went to see the collaboration between the animators. Nika only walked among people and wanted a review, this is not very good for the hotel.
