Better than we expected after reading reviews

    rating14 May 2026

We booked this holiday last minute on a whim, over a beverage at lunchtime, (it was a great offer) We didn't do any research (which is unusual for us as we usually plan our holidays well in advance)Upon getting home and reading Trip Advisor reviews we were really worried that we'd made a big mistake, the reviews weren't good. The latest one was dated October 2025, so nothing posted recently. We had everything included, flights, transfers, hotel and all inclusive (more on that later)When we arrived, I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised, the reception was clean and bright and we were met by a lovely young lady on reception. We were given room 115 (photos attached)The reviews I had read all mentioned filthy carpets but ours were clean, as were all the corridor carpets. The room was clean and nicely made up with a basket of fresh fruit. It's a shame that were were at the side of the building, we didn't have a clear view of the sea. The hotel was quiet so it would have been easy for them to have put us in one, but when we asked, we were told it would be at an extra cost. The hotel was quiet with not much to do. A movie night or some sort of entertainment one evening would have been nice.On to the 'all inclusive'. It's not all inclusive (you have to dig deep in the paperwork to find this out) It's actually all inclusive 'light' which basically means that you get breakfast, lunch and dinner, all buffet style.Drinks wise, you get house red wine or white wine, a local beer and soft drinks, but only when you're dining. You can then purchase drinks at the bar outside of those hours. The red wine wasn't good. The white was slightly better. The food was good but was rather repetitive (as are most buffet restaurants) The bread was delicious and the salads nice and fresh. The gym was a bonus. The equipment looked new. At the back was a hot tub and sauna room, changing rooms and a relaxation area. I used these facilities most days as it was so quiet. The setting is lovely. Such a gorgeous outlook. A rocky shore and gorgeous blue hues in the water. Unfortunately it was too cold for us to swim in it (others did though)We walked to the nearby town of Vroboska a few times (about 20 minutes at a good pace) It's gorgeous. Jelsa is also worth a visit.I must mention the dining room staff who were so friendly and helpful. They worked such long hours but always had a smile and they took time to chat. A big thank you goes to Jeevan, Texie and Yahia. All in all we were pleasantly surprised that our fears about cleanliness were unfounded. It's definitely not a 4* hotel but it's nice and thankfully, it's clean.

A lovely experience - hotel to be recommended

    rating14 May 2026

We stayed at the Aminess Younique for a week from the 7th May. Initially we weren't quite sure about it but I think it was because it was just at the very start of the season so things hadn't quite going and the sun didn't grace us with its presence. However a day or two in and the place got going, the sun was shining and the blue sea twinkling. Things to think about are that to get to the next place to go to the supermarket or go to a bar or restaurant is about a 30 minute walk each way to Vrboska. It is a beautiful walk and once there you can catch the local bus to Sarri Grad, Hvar old town etc. It does require a bit of effort . We had half board and the food was actually good, plentiful and fresh. Wine and beer included - so good value. There is a bar in the hotel reception area, not very big but sells all different types of alcohol, non alcoholic drinks and coffee. The bar is presided over by the wonderful Yahia. Yahia is super helpful and always incredibly welcoming. You can tell he enjoys making people feel at home always greets you a smile. The rooms are clean and bright - I would recommend asking for a room with sea view - the beautiful clear blue sea is a joy to wake up to. There is a variety of things to do at the hotel but you can see that from the details. The pool is a good size and again very clean.

Relaxing Off-Season Stay by the Sea

    rating08 May 2026

We stayed at Senses Resort for five days last week and it was one of the most peaceful and relaxing places we have ever visited. The hotel is surrounded by a beautiful pine forest right next to the sea, and the entire atmosphere is incredibly calm and quiet, just the perfect place to truly switch off and rest.It was an amazing base for exploring nearby places by car - Jelsa, Hvar, Stari Grad and other spots around the island - and our favorite part of the day was always coming back there in the evening to enjoy the peace, nature, and silence. The food was also absolutely delicious, everything felt fresh and we genuinely enjoyed every meal. We especially loved visiting during the off-season because there were no crowds, which made the whole experience even more relaxing and special. We would definitely love to come back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature and the sea.

    Take a good care!!!!!!

    rating05 May 2026

At the Aminess Senses Resort, you should go if you want a beautiful location and good food. However, you should be aware that the food is prepared and served by foreign workers who, in my opinion, are literally being exploited by the management, as they work 14 hours a day or even more (I honestly find it hard to believe they get any proper breaks). They look exhausted, yet they still remain very kind and professional towards the guests.Meanwhile, some of the Croatian receptionists can at times come across as arrogant, rude, and dismissive. The Aminess hotel chain simply cuts costs by exploiting cheap labor while they comfortably make profits themselves. One more important thing:Be careful which agency you travel and vacation there with, because we accidentally overheard some local organizers from Hvar bragging about how they had cheated tourists out of €100 per person...It is a shame that such a beautiful hotel has such corrupt people there.

Don't stay in Aminess Hotels if you have any kind of Allergies or Medical Issues.

    rating18 Oct 2025

I stayed in two Aminess hotels during my stay. I booked to stay in this one because it came up in three searches under 'Best Spa Hotel in Hvar' Which was a lie, the spa had been closed since August, the first of many it would seem. Because the underlying issue with Aminess Resorts is that they simply want your money. None of the staff, from Reservations, Management all the way down to general staff could care less if you have a nice holiday. Not at this time of year. The season ends in September but they continue to charge high prices for a resort that is 70% closed, because they dont want to pay the staff. There is nowhere to get food from 9am until 7pm as all of the bars and beachside eateries are shut down. You can walk into Vrboska, but it's the same there. Just a constant feeling that tourists are 'unwanted' wherever you go. Until its time to give them money. Underneath the rooms is a building site, with noise all through the day. All of the watersports/activties equipment is locked away. Equipment all over the hotel is broken, including the air con in the rooms, but nothing gets fixed. The smell of raw sewage on the way to the restaurant in the evenings is utterly grotesque. I have experienced this in some countries but never to this extent in Europe, and certainly not in a five star hotel. The food is appalling, and I mean just awful. The kitchen staff just kind of throw it all out at the beginning so they can clear down and go home. Its a mass of overcooked smush that just sits there for three hours until it goes cold and congeals. The meat and fish resemble the material of boxing gloves. Everything fresh looks like it was prepared three days earlier, brown cabbage, dry salad, heat lamps that couldn't even melt ice cream. And oh my... The fruit flies. I wish I had taken photos, the fruit and desserts in the evenings were crawling with them, hundreds of them. They vomit on the food when they land and carry dangerous bacteria... Then after dinner the fruit was thrown in some juice, recycled, and put out at breakfast the next day. Just disgusting. I had a huge asthma attack in the room bought on by the broken air con filling the room with dry air and a huge amount of excessive perfume/air freshener. I changed rooms three times. The extent of the medical assistance I received was a glass of water. I had to move rooms myself over and over because they were atrocious. On the second day the lack of sleep (I was terrified and couldn't breathe deeply it kept waking me up choking) caused a migraine and I vomited, on the third day (above the building site with constant noise so I couldn't sleep in the daytimes either) I was so ill, and had gone three days with hardly any food. They begrudgingly sent a bowl of soup to my room (beef, I'm vegetarian) and arranged transfer to another hotel within the group. The manager and reception staff were talking about me, dtaring at me and laughing the whole time. The transfer took over five hours across two ferries and I travelled alone, passing out twice, once on the stairs. And the journey took that long because they could only be bothered to drop me in Supetar instead of Brac main ferry port, which would have taken 45 mins. They classed this 9 minute taxi ride as such a huge favor that they still made me pay in full for my stay, minus a measly 10% discount. Because the 9 minute jouney and the beef soup totally made up for three days of no food, no sleep and an utterly ruined holiday. Told me some lie about rough seas and no quick ferries, but I checked, tickets were still available on the 45 minute ferry all day. The other Aminess hotel they sent me to was even worse. No spa either. Also 70% closed down. They put me in another room above the bar, full of cigarette smoke and late night noise, with the air con on despite me asking the manager in this hotel to let them know I was having serious medical issues. She didn't bother. The manager in the new hotel confirmed this. No one mentioned a thing. I was simply an inconvenience to them. So many unlabeled allergens in both hotel restaurants I can't even go into how bad it was as this review is long enough. Hazelnut Ice Cream in the second hotel with no label and when I told the manager she kind of sneered at me and said 'They forget labels' Your health and safety means NOTHING to these people. They destroyed my entire holiday. Honestly the worst of my life. Despite me emailing immediately to cancel my reservation in the second hotel they ignored me and made me stay for the full 5 nights extra. I desperately wanted to go home I was so tired and ill and scared but I couldn't afford to rebook more last minute flights until I knew they wouldn't charge me for the room. They ignored me for five days, repeated calls, messgaes and requests to see the manager. Insisted I pay on the premise of a refund for both stays later in the week. The Manager told me this. Once they had my money and I had left they completely ignored me again. Two weeks later sent me an offer for 10% off my next stay. I have worked in hotel management for almost 30 years and I know exactly what's going on here. Everything about the hotel is awful/closed/cheap/ but they still want your money, the staff are rude and clearly don't want you around. If you honestly want to go ahead and book to stay here after reading this review then so be it. I warned you. They will take your money and make a fool of you too. If you want to stay somewhere who cares about you and your very valuable free time. There are many, many much more beautiful hotels in Croatia for this price range. Its a stunning location but sadly run by money grabbing heartless people. Its one star not four. I tried to warn you.
