Location

This modern hotel lies close to a cliff-lined beach typical of the island, with crystal-clear waters (bathing platforms on offer) and about 1 km from the town centre. The nearest nightclub is about 1 km away and shops can be found about 1.5 km away.

Facility

40 double rooms are located on 3 storeys and can be reached by lift. English-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. A baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service are available. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. A number of shops, including a supermarket and souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional facilities include a TV room. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage (no extra charge) or in the car park. Other services include a babysitting service, a childcare service, a car hire service, medical assistance, room service, an alarm call service, a laundry service, a hairdresser and a coin-operated laundry. Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. In most units, guests can enjoy a view of the sea from a balcony or terrace. Rooms have a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. A hairdryer and a telephone are provided in the bathrooms, which include a shower and a bathtub. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. Bathrooms with wheelchair access can also be booked. The hotel has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

Sport

The indoor and outdoor pools are ideal for exercise as well as relaxation. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. The hot tub in the pool area promises pure relaxation. Those who wish to stay active while on holiday can enjoy cycling/mountain biking and golf. For a fee, tennis is also available. Water sports available at the hotel include water skiing, windsurfing, jet skiing, motorboat rides, paddle boating, banana boat rides, canoeing, sailing, catamaraning, snorkelling and diving. Yoga and aerobics or, for a fee, a gym, are among the sport and leisure options available. There is a wellness area with a spa, a steam bath, massage treatments and a solarium. Subject to charge: a sauna. Activity coordinators organise an entertainment programme for adults and children.

Meals

Various dining options are available, including a café and a bar. A number of specialities await guests in the air-conditioned, non-smoking restaurant. Refreshing drinks at the beach bar are a perfect way to enjoy warm weather. Half board is offered as a catering option. A generous breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. At lunch, guests can choose between à la carte and a set menu. Dinner options include a buffet, à la carte and a set menu. Special meals, including diet meals, are also available. The hotel also offers special catering options.

    Good hotel but very rude bar staff

    My partner and I are a young couple and we visited Hvar and stayed in Hotel Podstine for a week at the start of June. We found the staff who work at reception to be lovely however the bar staff in particular were extremely rude and dismissive and upon talking to other guests this appeared to be a very common experience. The room itself had an amazing view and had what you’d need however is a bit outdated but we did expect that from the photos. The breakfast included was ok, it tasted good but it’s very limited in terms of what they have. The hotels about a 20 minute walk from Hvar centre but the walk was very picturesque and enjoyable. The access to the sea and small dock for our boat to collect us from was lovely. The hotels atmosphere was nice and calm with it being a relatively small hotel. Overall, it was good for what we wanted and was also a good price for a week in Hvar.

    The location is top notch. You can walk to Hvar town center in 20 minutes and the views from our room were a dream. Staff is friendly in the slightly detached eastern European way. Not very warm - but correct and efficient. The building itself is a bit tired as are the rooms. If you are not very able bodied all the stairs to the terraces and beach might be daunting. Rooms are comfortable but dated. Breakfast is not really very good. Just very standard hotel fare. But we had a good time. And I really prefer it to something like Amphora or a downtown place in Hvar.

    Excellent stay. Gorgeous hotel, beautiful views, clean and the sea is excellent for a swim. Restaurant food was awesome. Delicious dishes and great service in the bar and restaurant. Staff friendly and zero complaints.

    Beautiful location and friendly staff. Stunning views and outside facilities. How disappointing is the room we stayed. We stayed in annex room across the main building and this is not close to 4 star. Dated , not very clean and falling apart. So so disappointing. Food basic defo not 4 star either. I looked up the previous guest reviews after we checked in and it looks like the Podstine hotel don’t care about their guests negative experience. A lot of same reviews from months ago but no reply or anything done in that matter looking at their and pictures I took. My bad I never looked up reviews about annex I judged my opinion on room reviews. I’ll defo be more careful next time not a cheap mistake. Hvar it’s beautiful and defo worth the trip. Would come back but not to Podsine hotelManager offered us the refund on the day of our check out but because we still reviewed the hotel he cancelled the refund. Not nice management to deal with a lots of lies about refunding us. So disappointed and would not recommend this hotel if you are looking for real 4 star hotel.     An excellent base for a visit to Hvar

    The hotel is in a great location for visiting Hvar if you prefer to stay away from the party scene in the old town. The walk in takes about 20 minutes along the promenade though there is a steep flight of stairs to navigate down to it Taxis cost 20 euros. We had a superior room in the annex building with fabulous views across to the islands. It was spacious and reasonably well appointed. Odd that there was a kettle and tea bags but no coffee or milk. Breakfast was the usual buffet arrangement with an extensive range to choose from. Eating it on the terrace was a lovely way to start the day. The hotel has a private ‘beach’ with plenty of sun loungers. If you want shade you need to grab one with tree cover as there are no umbrellas. We found it to be a great place to spend the day and the crystal clear water made for a fabulous swim. The hotel could perhaps do more to make it easier to get into and out of the water, particularly for anyone with any kind of mobility issue. Slippery steps and a steep ladder would put some people off. The beach bar staff were great with a special mention to Borna whose effusive charm and cheerfulness were greatly appreciated.Hotel Podstine met our needs very well and we would recommend it as a place to stay when visiting Hvar.
