  Seven flights of stairs to reach the room with weed patch dump for the view.

  La Porta inn holds itself out os luxury lodging, but it is a very uncomfortable place to stay. To reach your room you must climb seven flights of stairs, 79 stairs in total. At night the stairway is dark with motion activated lights that do not work well. One of my rooms had a downstairs bathroom with the light switch downstairs forcing you to wake your partner at night by turning on the bedroom lights in order to climb down the bathroom stairs. The view from our rooms was literally a weed patch dump.

  Stunning !!! We had two nights here and were lucky enough to have the apartment with balcony and view

  We were lucky enough to have the room with balcony and view of both the sea and the palace - it was awesome !!! Toni was great and helped with our luggage on the stairs arriving and leaving - the room was outstanding and we would not hesitate to recommend and we would definitely stay again !!! Thank you to our hosts x

  Perfect stay but not long enough

  Perfect stay and fantastic host Tony who helped carry my luggage upstairs. He explained everything in detail and told us places to see whilst here only for a 1 night. Our room was lovely and bed very comfortable and newly renovated bathroom which was lovely. It's close to the markets 100m down the street and to Palace Gates.We chose this place as it was close to the departure of out cruise ship and would definitely stay here again

  I had a very comfortable stay at La Porta for 4 nights. The room was very nice, clean, modern, well-decorated, and quiet. Toni and his wife were really friendly and helpful. I arrived early and was able to store my bags. Toni arranged an airport transfer for my early morning flight. The hotel is located just across from one of the palace gates, so it is an excellent location. It is located very close (2 min) to a green market, and bakery, and is also close to the bus station (10 min) and port (5 min). Breakfast was included at the historic Lvxor Café & Restaurant, which was located a few steps away inside the palace walls. There is free wifi, a small fridge, and air conditioning. I would highly recommend this hotel.

  Close to everything in Split

  Ideally sited. Close to everything. 5 mins walk to the port and bus station (if that) and right next to the old walled town. Room was clean, well decorated and had everything we needed included our own balcony with view over the port. Toni was awesome. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. He gave us some great tips for local restaurants. Overall, great value for money and certainly far better than I expected.
