  Hotel is very calm and quiet. Nice rooms and friendly staff. Breakfast wasn't super various but satisfying. Very nice location, right in centre of the city. Very comfy to walk over Habana vieja Community Manager Hoteles Habaguanex, Dueño at Hotel Palacio Cueto, responded to this review It was a pleasure to have received them in our hotel thanks for your opinion has been very helpful, we will try to improve in the breakfast variety and we hope to see them with other friends or family.

  Excellence in La Habana Vieja !

  The Staff is 5 Star ⭐️ Julio & Mariam the desk managers just to name a few, are very Professional, as well as Carlos the General Manager. Any thing you need, their attention to detail is way above excellent. The rooms are spacious , modern with a touch of old world, and the cleanest I have seen. Everybody who works here is friendly, and helpful. The Roof top Bar is the best view of La Habana Vieja, not to mention the entire city. Their location right on the Plaza Vieja can’t be beat. You walk out the front door right into the heart of La Havana Vieja, and all of its Old World charm. All the Best restaurants are just steps away. I’ve stayed in many other hotels in Habana, but now I’ve found a home away from home at Palacio Cueto. It’s why I’ve stayed here 10 times in the past. I feel like I’m home when I stay here.Do yourself a favor, and stay at Palacio Cueto for your own one of a kind experience of Cuban Excellence, and Hospitality. See you there sometime I hope.   200 euros were stolen from our hotel room

  We thought we had locked the safe but forgot to dial #. When we checked, as the safe was old and the door rusty, it didn't open so we thought it was locked. When we came back, the safe was open. The passports were still there as our cash. But counting, we found out it was short of 100 Swiss Francs and 100 euros. The thief had the intelligence not to take everything, hoping we would not realise. When we went to the reception, they pretended to investigate but said it was our fault and never searched who accessed the room or searched their bags to find the cash (100 euros are easily dismissed, not 100 CHF) - Do NOT trust the hotel

  Beautiful views from the rooftop, but very little shade. Typical Cuban military/security forces operated hotel. I have been watching this building's renovation for years. The tower crane that had loomed (but never moved) over Palacio Cueto was finally gone when I walked across Plaza Vieja and into the establishment's open entrance. I inquired at the front desk about a drink and the clerk lazily pointed to the elevator. On the roof I asked about cerveza and was pleased to find that they had Bucanero, my favorite Cuban brand. This day was my tenth in the country and the first opportunity to enjoy a bottled Bucanero, so I ordered a second one and asked about food. The server replied that the chef could make a ham and cheese sandwich. Nothing else. The cost was $24, including a mandatory gratuity. Gaviota Habaguanex Cuban-operated establishments are too smart to accept Cuban Pesos, and Cucs can now be used to light your cigar or wipe your nose. They are neither issued nor accepted. After all, why would a poor country want to accept their own currency? They already know it's worthless. Buy an MLC debit card at the Cadeca and charge it with Euro. Also, guests from the USA should be aware that this hotel is on the State Department's list of restricted entities. As so many reviewers have pointed out, you are better off to book a casa particular.

  Beware of Hotel

  The Hotel is fairly new, rooms were spacious. It STOPPED there!!! Shower didn't work, waited 24 hours for towels. The staff picks and chooses who and when to sell you internet service. Management is incompetent. Food was regulated by the government it was terrible. Stay at an AIRBnB!
