  Inland Cuban Resort near Trinidad

  A lovely resort with very clean cabins, a delightful pool and large outdoor dining and bar area near Trinidad, Cuba. Family resort with very well behaved children; Seems to be a popular tour destination. Be aware that the local dog and cat population also reside here, but do not seem to bother guests until eating time. Grounds are well kept up. Rooms have a wraparound porch, but outdoor chairs are not furnished.   Not ready for prime time.

  I really wanted to like this place and my mind was propped wide open about different lodging standards in Cuba and the appeal of rusticity. That said, the central food pavillion was fine, but the cabins are really in rough shape. Bird poop on sliding glass doors that don't slide open, electrical outlets that pull out of the wall when you use them, uncertain air conditioners, big holes in bed coverlets, the list of sadnesses goes on. The deal breaker, however, was the extensive trash strewn about the parking lot perimeter and the little horse trail down to the pond. Even if this is just outside the property someone really needs to take care of it, as it produces a very bad impression that lingers in the total experience.   Outstanding cuban lunch

  Our tour stopped at this lovely resort for lunch as we toured Trinidad from Cienfuegos. The setting is lovely. The food and serve top notch. Cuba should be proud of places like this which entice the world to see and visit this Island.   The setting is nice in the countryside but the rooms were a little bare bones. The bathroom was especially on the not so great side. The window in the bathroom didn't close so you could end up with bugs in your room. The location is miles from the city center so you need to plan for that.   Wouldn't be my choice.

  We spent an evening here as part of a Cubatur excursion. First the good points: Just west of Trinidad on the Cienfuegos Highway, on the banks of a river, good food at the restaurant with good service. Lots of space in each cottage (double, which was likely on the large size). Hot water is not an issue, but the water pressure is low.Then the not so good: Untrained clowns as bell hops who didn't even look at our luggage, air conditioning set at 15C--I managed to figure out how to turn it off at 3am. Trash strewn around the pool, fallen mangoes left to rot on the sidewalks. (Insulating the cottages would likely reduce the arctic blast of a/c.) El trabajo de los bell boy, es prcisamente ahorrarles molestias a los clientes y cargarles las maletas, no obstante será objeto de analisis por nuestra parte. El aire acondicionado cuando se presentan esos detalles debe llamar inmediatamente a carpeta y le mandan personal disponible las 24 horas para resolverlo. Todos sus comentarios serán debatidos y perfeccionaremos aquellos en los que nos sugirió mejoras. Atentamente. Jessika Maria
