Great location, fantastic staff and beautiful rooms. This place is a jewel in Karlsbad. Walking distance to everything and wonderful views from the balcony

Very disappointing!

My husband and I booked this hotel for two nights. Unfortunately, the experience didn't meet our expectations. The receptionist said that this hotel was "new". She barely spoke English, making communication difficult. Her work hours 8 am- 8 pm. Outside of those hours, there is no one to assist.We were given the keys from the front door in case we return after 8 pm. ( this might be acceptable in a guesthouse or a hostel,but not at a hotel prices.Since we were the only guests at the hotel during our stay, it would have been reasonable to expect a better room selection ( including the view).The wall in the room was peeling. The electric kettle was old and rusty. The bath towels were clearly well past their prime- worn thin,frayed, and dull gray color that suggested they hadn't been replaced in years. No soap or basic toiletries were provided. Breakfast ( 8-10 am): not included, we payed 15 euros per person. The food offered extremely minimal selection of food ( cucamber, tomato, bell pepper- one of each, sliced), a small bowl of apples and bananas, several pieces of bread, cheese, ham, some butter, jam and coffee. The receptionist asked us if we want eggs ( my husband asked to make him scrambled eggs).( I left, didn't touch anything)- though I doubt I'll be offered a refund!( one day, one of the ladies ( stuff) didn't knock to check if anyone is in the room, she just opened the door with her key and was about to enter the room, while we were in the room). No manners!This stay was extremely disappointing. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone!
