    Perfect Location to explore Prague

    The hotel is in the perfect position to enjoy Prague , situated just off the Charles bridge and a short walk ( 10 mins approx ) to the Old Town Square . The building itself is originally baroque and has kept its old world charm . Our room was clean and comfortable with toiletries provided. We opted for breakfast, which was buffet style & it was plentiful and fresh . The gentleman that checked us in was pleasant and helpful . We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Certovka .     The location is out of this world, with all central Prague landmarks, restaurants and shops within short walking distance. Our room was spotlessly clean and cosy, the bed was comfy and the city view was awesome. Our special thanks to the hotel staff for all their care and professionalism.     We came to the hotel for New Year and my friend's birthday. We were assigned a room on the -1 floor, which can only be described as a storage room. The room had a moldy smell, a broken shower, and an intolerable noise resembling a tractor operating inside the room. The gentleman at the reception initially dismissed my complaints and after my 3rd complain and showing the video from the "room" with the noice only then was technical service called to address the issue. I repeatedly requested to speak with the front office Manager, Mrs. Stepanka, who was reportedly in the hotel but refused to meet with us, claiming she was too busy. This disregard for guests' concerns is unprofessional and unacceptable.Throughout our stay, we felt like we were being treated as second-class guests, akin to “mice living in a storage room.” This experience, especially during holidays, ranks among the worst I have ever encountered in a hotel. You requested a room on a higher floor and I personally informed you in advance that you were making a last minute reservation, you booked the last available room and in such a small hotel it is impossible to guarantee any of these types of requests. We checked you in immeditately on arrival at 8.45am, at no extra charge. Although the room is located in the basement, due to the structure of the hotel it has 3 beautiful large windows facing the Čertovka canal. The room is newly renovated, has a brand new floor, has been painted recently, definitely doesn't smell musty or anything. But you didn't like the room, and when we couldn't, and I underline couldn't, change it, you started looking for anything to complain about. The receptionist certainly did not dismiss your complaints, the slightly noisier heater was adjusted as soon as the hotel technician arrived. The broken shower was so badly broken that you didn't notice and report it until the next day. Yes, the shower riser rail was sliding down the rod slightly, however everything was completely replaced. And as for my unwillingness to address your complaints. I am very happy to help guests resolve issues, but this was not an issue. It was the fact that you didn't like the room and refused to accept the fact that the hotel didn't have another room available. On my instruction, immediately after the first complaint, my colleague at the reception offered that although your booking was non-refundable, we would refund the full amount you had paid and you could find other accommodation. It is not our fault that you did not use this offer. All guests who stayed at our hotel for multiple nights during this New Year period were given a fruit bowl as a present. You were no exception. Again, it is not our fault you left it untouched. So much for considering you second-rate guests. For the rest of your stay, we heard only ironic and insulting remarks from you, and unfortunately you yourself did not even have the basic courtesy, unlike your friend, to say goodbye when you left.     The enjoy the stay so much, very warm and relax atmosphere. The classic hotel has delicious breakfast and comfortable room.
