This historic location is also home to the Municipal House and the Powder Tower. The main pedestrian area also starts here (Prague's famous commercial centre, also known as the "Golden Cross"). The city's world-famous concert halls, theatres, shopping centres, shops, galleries, and restaurants can all be found in the near vicinity, while Charles Bridge and Prague Castle can be reached on foot in 10 minutes and 20 minutes respectively. For those in the city on business, the convenient location near the Prague stock exchange and the government ministries, banks, and office complexes makes the hotel an attractive proposition. By taxi, the exhibition area and congress centre are only a few minutes away. It is still simpler by public transport, with a total of three underground stations in the immediate vicinity: Staromestska, Mustek, and Namesti republiky, all in a radius of about 500 m. As an example, Prague Castle can be reached in only 15 minutes by public transport.

    Lovely hotel!

    rating27 Dec 2012

Best hotel I stayed in in Prague.Friendly and helpful staff. We stayed here twice, last time during the Icelandic volcano eruption.(I know this review is a bit late.)Other hotels took advantage of this and upped their prices for stranded tourists but not Verona, they let us stay there for the same rate as the one we already paid for.The rooms are nice and big with a modern look, very fresh. The room we stayed in had a living room with kitchenette complete with microwave and kettle. The living room had a double sofa bed that was nice to cuddle up in, we decided to stay in one night and watch TV, turns out there's only two English speaking channels and they are both news channels.Luckily they had a DVD player and we had found a place that sold cheap DVD's.The beds are comfortable, you'll sleep like a log after all the walking around and a few pints of beer. :)Only a 750 meter walk from the Old Town Square.

This hotel was perfect and romantic at the same time

    rating07 Oct 2011

All in the room was perfect. I strongly recommend you on your journey to Prague. Located near the metro and the mall Palladium (where you can buy everything and of course to eat) and you can get very comfortable in the city. I personally found it very romantic as the hotel and I liked it too despite some problems. For example, if you're not the best simple breakfast to eat in addition to a shop outside. At the other are very friendly, warm and convenient. There is always someone in reception but after 23:30 should you have any case to have a mobile so that they open. I too was glad to again and again whenever I can.

    A comfortable welcome to Prague

    rating24 Aug 2011

Sometimes the people are who makes the stay extra special. My husband and I have stayed from gorgeous high end rooms to hole in the wall hostels, and through our travels Residence Verona holds a special place in our heart. First off, everyone was more than friendly. Second for the fabulous price you get a spacious room. Third, it's a perfect distance away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy areas. Although the credit card machine was also an issue for us, it was very easy to head to the bank on the corner and grab some cash. Plus, that bank in particular provided us the best conversion rates after some extensive comparisons. Breakfast was a good kick start to our travels for the day. To be honest, for the price we wouldn't have expected breakfast, so we took it as a sweet bonus. Victor was more than hospitable. He always provided service with a smile. The final words he said to us was, "I hope to see the three of you next time when you visit." He must have knew something we didn't as we're expecting in a few months, and would love to travel to pay Victor a visit again.

great location, great hotel a few issues

    rating16 Jul 2011

I am writing this review as before i went i read some reviews on here which made me very apprehensive before i arrived. Firstly i found no problems with cleanliness in our room, in fact it was spotless, all the rooms are suites with at least a double bed and a sofa bed. The staff were helpful although their English was limited. Breakfast although basic was adequate. There was even complimentary travel toothbrushes supplied so no complaints there. The location was brilliant it is a couple of minutes walk from the metro station and 5 to 10 minutes walk from some of the more touristy attractions such as the astronomical clock, its also very close to a large and modern shopping centre. Now the not so good bits, The room has a kitchenette area with a fridge, microwave and 2 ring hob, but if you want to cook (athough i dont know why anyone would go to prague and not eat out. especially as we found out the pizzeria across the road is great value and excellent food) you'd have a hard time as there are no pots or pans or cooking utensils perhaps if you ask reception they will provide these but we had no actual need for these things although a kettle would have been really handy. As i was there with my mother i didn't fancy sleeping in the same bed as her, not to worry there is a sofa bed....the bedding for this however consisted of 2 spare single duvets and 1 pillow, no sheets or pillowcases or duvet covers. The worst bit however was not down to the hotel itself but made our stay not as great as it could have been. Our room was at the rear of the property and faced out onto a covered courtyard, some of our neighbours decided to be very loud until gone 4 am and due to the layout the sound echoed around the courtyard and made sleep impossible, when eventually they shut up and i fell asleep i was awoken at 7 am by the builders renovating the adjacent building...VERY noisily again with the sound echoing it was unbearable. Not the hotels fault but a warning may have been nice. on the plus side anyone going wont have to put up with the idiots in the nearby room as we did. All in all our stay was great it was incredible value and only marred by the problems above but i think it would be unfair to criticise the Verona for things out of their control. I would return but maybe take my ear plugs next time or set my alarm for 7!

    Best hotel experience yet.

    rating08 Jul 2011

The best experience I can remember having at a hotel. Victor, the owner, was very nice and even left a surprise birthday gift in my room after seeing my passport dates. The room was very clean and comfortable and it was close enough to the places I wanted to go that it was very convenient. Free breakfast was included. I would highly recommend Residence Verona to anyone.
