    Beware, rooms not as advertised!!

    4 star hotel this is not. The standard double room I booked most certainly was not 15m2, as per the hotels description. Let alone having room to fit in a safe which there wasn't. Also only having only one lift, if you are round the other side of the hotel you certainly get your step count up! So being there on one of the hottest weekends, in a tiny room, no air con and no fan (not that there would have been room) did not make for a comfortable stay. Breakfast, however was plentiful with lots of variety. Staff we're generally pleasant. Room was at least clean, although tried. Liked the names above each room door. Location was central.Don't advertise something you are not going to provide.

    The hotel is in a great location, a 5 minute walk to the river and into the main square. Our room was compact but more than adequate and there are lifts for accessibility. Staff were also pleasant and we received a complimentary glass of prosecco on the roof top bar, and a Prague pass which offers discounts on many attractions. Only negative was that there were 2 steps down into our room which we could have easily missed and could be dangerous. There’s a lovely little cocktail bar opposite the hotel called ‘Orange Bar, which I would highly recommend.

    We were robbed

    During our stay at the Metropolitan Old Town Hotel on Hasstalska Street, Prague 1, on February 17, 2026, while we were asleep, someone used a spare key from the front desk to break into our room and stole a purse containing credit cards and a wallet with cash in both euros and Czech crowns. The resulting loss amounts to 4,000 EUR. The receptionist admitted to us that more rooms had been robbed, but it is possible that other guests did not notice it immediately—perhaps only later in the city or at the airport—because if only their wallets were stolen, they assumed they had been robbed at a later time. The hotel’s stance is that they are unwilling to compensate us for the damage, so we have hired a lawyer and will resolve the entire matter in court. If anyone is planning to stay at this hotel, don’t do it, because you too could be robbed at night while you sleep. If we had woken up, they might have even killed us. I have a Police Statement if somebody interesting

    Great location in the center, close to touristic places, a little bit old furniture but the personal is really nice and helpful😊Can recommend and would come again💯
