    Did not meet expectations.

    rating30 May 2026

Some staff were very friendly, but said they were unable to help us with an air conditioner that was exceptionally noisy. Said to open window and offered a fan, that air conditioning was not advertised on website. However, it never occurred to us that in 2026, we would need to ask IF THERE WAS AIR CONDITIONING. We were not offered a change of room. Bathroom was not fully functional, no counter space, shower stall was barely four square feet, could not turn around. Overall room size was also small. Not what we were expecting for a 'Superior Double Room'.However, the breakfast meal was excellent. director king charles, General Manager at The King Charles, responded to this review Dear Stephen,Thank you for your feedback, and we are glad the breakfast exceeded your expectations! We are sorry the room did not meet your expectations. We'd like to offer some context: King Charles Hotel is a protected historical monument with over 400 years of history — staying with us is truly a chance to touch a piece of living history. However, this also means that the original architecture sets certain limitations. Our Standard rooms reflect the authentic character of the building, with cozy proportions that are part of its historic charm, though we understand this may not suit every guest's expectations.Regarding air conditioning — in a building of this age and protected status, installing modern climate systems is unfortunately not possible throughout the property. We regret this was not clearer at the time of booking. Unfortunately, during your stay the hotel was fully occupied, which meant we were unable to offer an alternative room. We are sorry for this inconvenience. We hope you might consider visiting us again — with the right room expectations in mind, we believe Prague's history and our team's warmth can make for a truly special stay.King Charles Hotel Team

    Prague family break

    rating11 May 2026

I would highly recommend the King Charles Hotel. First class service from all of the staff. We were looked after very well and also had use of lounge for our family (10 adults) get together. Lovely large rooms with plenty storage. Good selection of hot and cold items for buffet breakfast. The hotel is on a hill near the castle, but don't let that put you off. An easy walk down to the main town and cheap taxis available for going back up. Definitely recommend staying here. director king charles, General Manager at The King Charles, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you so much for this wonderful review! We're thrilled your family gathering was such a success and that our team could make everyone feel so well looked after. It's great to hear the rooms, breakfast, and lounge all hit the mark. We hope to welcome your family back to King Charles Hotel again.King Charles Hotel Team

    rating24 Apr 2026

Stayed 3 nights, great location. Clean, friendly helpful staff. We arrived early they stored our baggage so we could walk around and see the city before check in. It is on a big hill but just about everything is within walking distance. director king charles, General Manager at The King Charles, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for your kind words — we are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us!It is lovely to hear that our team could help make your arrival smooth, even before check-in. That is exactly the kind of welcome we always aim to provide. We hope the hill kept you fit for all that exploring — and that we will see you back at King Charles Hotel on your next visit to Prague!Warm regards,King Charles Hotel Team

    Historic Decor

    rating23 Apr 2026

Booked a superior room through easyJet holidays for me and my husband as it is very reasonably priced on their website. Pleasantly surprised by the spacious room. It is absolutely brilliant for history lovers as the decor takes you back in time. The staff were always really helpful to us.We requested that our room be made up each day by hanging the door handle request outside our room, and the household staff did a splendid job.If returning from town, I recommend catching the tram 22 to Proholec as it is a gentle walk down rather than climbing the steep hill.If you turn left from the hotel and up the sloping hill, you will find yourself in the castle grounds rather than climbing the hundred steps which you would do from lower down the hill. There is a lift in the hotel but not suitable as wheelchair accessible as it is a narrow lift.We absolutely loved our stay here. I'm not a big fan of breakfast and usually just have a coffee, but I saw a wide selection in the mornings in the cosy breakfast room. If we return to Prague, we would return to this hotel and splash out on a junior suite, although the superior room was more than spacious for us two. director king charles, General Manager at The King Charles, responded to this review Dear Melissa, Thank you so much for this lovely review — and for the wonderful tips you shared for fellow guests! The tram 22 recommendation and the castle grounds shortcut are genuinely helpful, and we are sure future visitors will appreciate them. We are delighted you loved the historic character of the hotel and that our team made your stay so comfortable. The junior suite will be waiting for you whenever you are ready! We hope to welcome you both back to King Charles Hotel on your next Prague adventure. Warm regards, King Charles Hotel Team
