    Disciplined run Hotel.

    rating12 May 2026

I have been traveling for over 26 years, staying in countless hotels across the world, and I can say without hesitation that Ms. Maryke Gottlieb is one of the most exceptional managers I have ever encountered. Reading some of the reviews about her, I was surprised, because my experience was the complete opposite. She is the driving force behind this hotel, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and efficiently, often under challenging circumstances.Ms. Gottlieb and her team demonstrate extraordinary dedication, professionalism, and resilience. I witnessed firsthand how they deal with guests who are careless, demanding, and at times outright rude, yet they continue to respond with courtesy and efficiency. At the same time, Ms. Gottlieb has a no-nonsense approach — she does not allow disruptive or disrespectful individuals to disturb the peace and comfort of other guests. She protects her staff and ensures that the hotel remains a place of order, dignity, and hospitality. What impressed me most was her ability to balance firmness with fairness. She is not always calm in the face of rudeness, nor should she be — instead, she stands her ground, sets clear boundaries, and makes it clear that unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated. This strength of character is rare in hospitality, and it is exactly what makes her such an outstanding leader. Her team clearly respects and admires her, and the atmosphere she creates is one of warmth, efficiency, and discipline. In my decades of travel, I have rarely seen a manager so invested in the well-being of both her guests and her staff. Ms. Gottlieb is not just managing a hotel; she is holding it together with her dedication, resourcefulness, and professionalism. She deserves recognition, support, and appreciation for the tireless effort she puts into her role.To anyone reading negative reviews, I would urge you to look deeper. Hospitality is a demanding industry, and it is easy to criticize without understanding the challenges involved. My experience with Ms. Gottlieb was outstanding, and I believe she is an asset not only to this hotel but to the entire hospitality industry. She embodies what true service and leadership should look like, and she ensures that the peace and quality of the hotel are never compromised by those who fail to respect it.

    worst hostel ever

    rating24 Mar 2026

Twenty years of professional travel. Every continent. Every type of accommodation imaginable. This is the only one-star review I have ever written, and I want to be very clear about why.Someone entered my room and stole approximately €400 worth of personal belongings. When I reported it, the staff on duty told me there were no security cameras in the building. There are cameras in the entrance hall. There are cameras in the corridor to the dining area. They are signposted. So the staff were either lying to my face, or they had never bothered to learn the most basic facts about the property they are paid to manage. Either way, it tells you everything you need to know about this place. They also denied that housekeeping had entered my room. My bath mat had been replaced. A new toilet roll had appeared. Someone had been in that room. Presented with this, they had nothing to say. Nothing. They refused to give me the manager's work email to formally report the theft. When I insisted, one of them told me I was bothering her. I was reporting a robbery. I was bothering her.I was told the manager, Ms. Maryke Gottlieb, would be available at 8:30 the following morning. She wasn't there. I left my number and asked to be called back urgently. She never called. When I finally reached Ms. Gottlieb by phone that evening, she had not bothered to familiarise herself with any of the details of the case. She did not know that one of the stolen items had turned up in another guest's room that morning, a fact that should have triggered an immediate internal investigation and didn't, because nobody in this building apparently thought it worth mentioning to her. And then, after everything, she told me she found it difficult to believe a theft had occurred. Police report filed. Physical evidence provided. And the property manager's position was that I was probably wrong.Ms. Gottlieb, I will be direct: you are a disgrace to this profession. Not because a theft happened on your watch, that alone would not have warranted this review. But because at every single step of this process, when you had the opportunity to do the right thing, you chose not to. You didn't show up. You didn't call back. You didn't brief yourself. You dismissed a robbery victim to his face. You are not managing a property, you are coasting through a job you are catastrophically unqualified for, and the people unfortunate enough to stay here are paying the price for it.Do not stay here. And if you do, and something goes wrong, do not expect anyone in this building to help you.

    Rude Reception employee

    rating25 Dec 2025

This was a great spot throughout a 5 day stay. Breakfast was average but we are well and we're generally happy with everything and the staff. It was only on the last day- after breakfast out key card didnt work. I spend more than 30 minutes going up and down 3 floors because the cards were not working. ( before checkout). It were attended to by Levi who was very rude and condescending. He had to come up to open our room door and then tells me that we will be charged an extra night of we are not out by 10. At this point I told him but we were stuck outside our room for over half and hour and his response was," its not my problem, I dont make the rules" This rude interaction left a very bad impression of this group and I will probably never go back to this accommodation. Levi was very rude and rolled his eyes every time everytime he saw my family and I waiting in the line again and again because the key card was not working. - as if we were blamed or it was our fault. He is rude and arrogant. Very unprofessional.

I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!

    rating01 Nov 2025

I checked into a mixed room with 8 people. It was so disgusting, food and old dishes were all over the room. The toilet was pee and old dirty towels on the floor. The men who lived there had no respect for the fact that there were more of us in the room, they lived like pigs. One night some of the guests had lent their bed to a friend so the door to our room had to be left open so that the person could enter without a key card from the reception. There was no respect for being quiet or respecting the lights being turned off when people were sleeping. I have travelled a lot and been to many hostels. This has been the worst experience ever to date. The communal kitchen and the areas were not particularly clean either. The staff were really nice, but that doesn't help their facilities and the clientele of guests they attract. Unfortunately I can't recommend it to anyone!! Not at all when we have so many other fantastic hostels in Copenhagen

    Would not recommend

    rating08 Jul 2025

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had.Upon arriving, I found dirty white socks next to the bed, right by the wall, as well as hair hanging from the top bunk. Disgusting and clearly a sign that the room hadn’t been properly cleaned. To make matters worse, you’re expected to put on your own bed sheets, which might be fine if they were clean – but mine smelled unpleasant and felt unwashed. The room itself was also worn down, with furniture looking tired and uncared for.Honestly, I didn’t feel comfortable at all. I know this is a budget stay, but hygiene and basic cleanliness should never be optional. Would not recommend.
