    Diabetics, beware !

    One cannot deny that this is a beautiful hotel with an excellent quality of service, right in the middle of nowhere. However my experience as a diabetic client has been utterly unacceptable. Upon check-in, I left two ice packs I use to transport insulin, at reception, labelled with my name and room number, to be kept in a freezer. When entering my beautiful room,I realised that the minibar cooler in the room was not working. I could not keep my insulin refrigerated in there. It took only ten minutes for the fridge to be swapped with a new one,which was already cold. Impressive!Unfortunately, the next morning I realised that the new fridge was not working either because of a power failure in the wall socket. I therefore had to bring my insulin to reception to keep it refrigerated, which is unheard of in a luxury hotel. As expected, the electrical failure was dealt with. Cherry on the cake, at check-out, the insulin was located immediately but it took reception nearly half an hour to find the ice packs that had been lost. Luckily, they had been kept frozen or I would have been in severe trouble, having a full day of travel in a tropical climate.Whatever the quality of an hotel, a minimal level of service is expected when it comes to life saving issues such as medicine that needs refrigeration. My experience with Intercontinental Cabrits on this issue has been a complete disaster. Ten years from now, this is what I will remember this hotel for.

    Relaxing experience in beautiful peaceful surroundings.

    I have visited the Hotel on a number of occasions for conferences and social events and still find it all impressive.I recently stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed my well deserved relaxing short break.The staff were so friendly and attentive throughout the Hotel - shout out to Kimron and the fun chats! I aslo want to thank Eve Henry for the lovely welcome, whilst greeting a large group of other guests.The room was very comfortable but I am curious about the bathroom design, that is open to the walk way and into the main suite.I recommend to family and friends for their trip later this year.     Excellent Value and Great Location

    We had a wonderful time at this hotel in March. I was highly impressed for the price how nice the property and rooms are (though the bathrooms are a little quirky with blinds and glass and sliding barn doors). Food and drinks were pretty good onsite and room service is very reasonable. It was very nice to have breakfast on our balcony. The pools were lovely as was the tennis court and spa. The head of spa and fitness facilities was wonderful and so helpful setting us up to play tennis. The bikes you can borrow are fun to explore around the area. We loved walking to dinner at nearby beach restaurants. We also really enjoyed nearby activities like Indian River Tour, waterfall hikes, and nature walks where you can spot endangered parrots native to the island. There is a small sandy beach right on the edge of the property that you can wade ocean. We stayed here 3 nights then headed to Jungle Bay which was more expensive and an unpleasant experience. We came back to the Intercontinental after 1 night there and were so grateful to be back! I didn’t think I was a resort type person but I really liked it here and appreciated how it never felt crowded.     The best Day Pass experience thus far!

    This was my second time coming, and I did a day pass this time around with a friend. We loved it! All staff are friendly, from the bar staff to the pool attendant, so helpful, which made my day a relaxing day, swimming - a choice of 4 pools, steam room, lunch and cocktails, which were brought to us - everything was 10 out of 10 except the showers could be hotter, so it gets an 8/10—but defo going there again. I've done other hotel day passes, but by far, Intercontinental offers a lot more. The choice of menu/food and taste were delicious, as were the cocktails! We rounded it up by going to the Rum Fire Bar, where they had offers of 2 4 1 - (2 hour) Happy Hour - Where we were very happy!! Offers on the day passes would be nice too, especially if you intend to come regularly!!     The Intercontinental Cabrits resort and spa on the lovely and lush island of Dominica in the Caribbean is, quite frankly, absolutely superb. This is definitely a five star resort and is without a doubt the finest property I've ever stayed at in the Caribbean. And I've been visiting the Caribbean region for over 40 years now. The resort itself is quite stunning. However, what really makes the Intercontinental Cabrits a very special place is the staff. My wife and I recently observed our birthdays together at the Intercontinental Cabrits and the great folks at the resort went out of their way to make it a truly memorable celebration for us. From the resort general manager to the food & beverage manager to the bar tender at the Rum Fire bar to the bell men and front desk personnel, everyone was very cordial, wonderfully friendly and totally professional. We would definitely stay at the Intercontinental Cabrits again and are looking forward to doing so - especially when the Dominica Cable Car finally opens! Very well done, Intercontinental Cabrits!
