My stay at whala!boccachica was amazing I don't have a single complaint. I am so happy i ignored the completely wrong and terrible reviews. This truly has been one of the best holidays of my life. The staff are so kind they don't speak much English but it really wasn't a massive problem. You are not coming to whala! For a 5 star luxury resort you are simply just coming to relax. There are 2 swimming pools at whala! A bigger pool where the amazing entertainment is and then a smaller calmer pool (a much more relaxed area) around the pools it is clean and the staff come and properly clean around the pool every morning ensuring it is perfectly clean. The toilets in the pool area are some of the nicest swimming pool toilets i have ever been in. The beach truly is amazing there are a few dogs on the beach but they really weren't a problem they don't approach you and most of the time they are just asleep under a sunbed or spread across the sand they never go in the sea and never come into the hotel so you really don't have to worry over the 10 days I stayed at whala! I didn't see one dog poo. As for the sellers on the beach if you just tell them you are not interested they will leave you alone but thay are very friendly. There is also water sports available like bannana boats and jet skis also pedallos there are some mangroves not far from the hotel I would recommend getting a pedallo and to go snorkeling around them. The vews across the hotel are some of the best In dominican republic. The food in the buffet is good they have a different theme every day (the themes are displayed just outside) sometimes you have to wait for a plate but that really isn't a big deal you don't have to wait long and the restaurant can be busy. They have a variety of fizzy drinks, juices and cocktails available and the bar is open until 1am. Sometimes outside can be a bit loud but always stops at around 11pm and really isn't a problem. I was really worried about my trip to whala! Because of the reviews but as soon as I got here I realised that just are not true and if you are expecting a 5 star resort whala! Isn't that but it is a truly fantastic dominican style hotel and I couldn't wish for a better holiday. I just want to say thank you to all the staff at whala! For the best most relaxed holiday possible and all of the horrible reviews are completely false. I can't wait to come back and I will recommend whala!bocachica to all my freinds and family.

Lovely - don't be swayed by the bad reviews!

Currently staying at Whala! Felt compelled to write a review... after reading reviews before coming i very nearly cancelled my trip. All I can say is im SO PLEASED I didn't. What an amazing place. The views from the full frontal ocean room are spectacular, staff are friendly, beach is beautiful. Food is good (yes its an all inclusive buffet and has no fanciness to it, but what do you actually expect...).Rooms are spacious, clean and housekeeping every day.Cocktails are very tasty.You can eat and drink from 7am until 1am.It's not a 5 star touristy resort, if that is what you are looking for, but if you are looking for an authentic getaway with a dominican vibe then this place is for you.Fly in to SDQ, transfer is 15 mins.Book an excursion to Saona island - absolute paradise.Lay back, chill, dance, eat, drink, enjoy.(the many other bad reviews are really not justified AT ALL).

Long drive to the hotel from Punta Cana airport. Charming hotel with colourful painting, trees and tropical plants around.Spacious room minor issues with the drain in the shower but was ok after. Clean room bring own fitted sheet. Buffet plenty of seats and food. Grill and fresh.Theme night daily, Mexican, Dominican, Asian etc. Beach beautiful need more huts for guests and beach bar on the beach. Bring your own towel.Great vacation. Will be back.Check in and out fast.should offer free safe in room.

Rooms are decent but not in block 2. It faces the alley and it’s noisy late and early. Food is ok but Buffett staff are very rude. Bar staff by the main pool is also rude. They give priority based on skin color. On the beach peddlers are very aggressive. Lots of stray dogs which was fine for us as we love dogs. The weekend was full of locals who were loud, pushy and rude. My beach towel was stolen in a flash. We paid 1800 pp and would not return. I’d rather go to Cuba. No vacation representatives available.
