  The pictures on this site are not indicative of this condo. Only 1 shade umbrella (which is falling apart) and only 5 chaise loungers for the entire complex. My father rented unit C2. He grossly overpaid. No tv in spare bedroom. Pantry shelf collapsed. Bamboo blind in kitchen broken. Veneer on cupboards chipped and dirty. Same in bathroom. Little to no drawer space. We basically lived out of our suitcase. Rusting fixtures in bathrooms. The cleaners forgot a top sheet on the bed during the weekly clean. I asked for one to put on myself. It was so threadbare, I could see through it. And ripped. You could hear any kids jumping around in the unit above. The last few days we were there (after 2 months), some families staying let their kids (about 6-8 of them) basically take over the entire courtyard and pool. They were loud and destructive. Garbage left everywhere and floating toys (belonging to condos) were destroyed. No parental supervision at all. Kitchen sink was about to collapse and tap very wobbly. Finally got it properly repaired after 3 weeks. No spot to sit in the shade at the beach. The guards at the Impressive Resort harass you, even though you are on public beach areas. We had to notify the Politura. Lots of pickpocking and prostitution right outside the gates. The bar area is decrepit and unused. The unit owner was quick to respond to things we needed, such as new foldable chairs (the ones in the unit were broken) and hangers. (No drawers). And a larger coffee pot (a small 5 cup only in unit). We requested ice cube trays as well. All were provided. All in all, we wouldn’t recommend this condo complex. You can do better.

  Location, Location, Location!

  We rented an Airbnb from Daviana, ‘Super Host’ for ten days stay at Casa Del Mar in Punta Cana. Also known as Punta Canada! The condo was moments to the beach, restaurants and grocery stores. The location could not be better. We have stayed in many Airbnb’s while travelling countries but never for and extended stay. We were going clamping and loved it. The unit was well equipped with the basic kitchen supplies, wifi, aircon, hot water, fire stick and drinking water jugs. Two bedrooms, two beds and two bathrooms. Remembering this is a rental unit the furniture, draperies and finishes are a bit dated but functional. There were tons of cupboard space but limited shelving, hangers were supplied. Daviana deserves to be called a ‘super host’ she responded so quickly to our inquiries. On site Berto is her eyes and ears. He was responding in an instant for some minor repairs and instructions. Gregory and Anthony were on the entrance booth for friendly greetings or a quick chat…with fairly good English, French and of course Spanish.The Bavaro beach is beautiful, we walked 5 km one way the first day and the beach was busy near the all-inclusive resorts but fairly empty in between. There are sunrises but no sunsets on this beach. Lots of options for water sports, parasailing, kayaking, hobby cats and of course the banana boat! There are pirate ship and party boat tours as well as snorkeling or scuba diving excursions. We spent most of our days near the ZOHO Beach bar. Wonderful restaurant and bar. The atmosphere is so relaxing and a bit upscale for a beach bar. Anna and Amanda tended to us most days…Anna is the wedding planner and we watched one ceremony and it was definitely a special moment. Don’t miss Dolce and Dalias. Both great restaurants. Dalias has a bakery in the back…yum! Dolce is known for its pizzas. Citrus and Kats Corner are popular. You need reservations for their special two for one nights. We have booked another one of Daviana’s condos in the same building for 4 weeks in December/January. So much more relaxed than an all inclusive!

  Worst place you can imagine.

  I wish I could give 0 stars. This place is an absolute dump! I don’t even know where to start and I assume most of these reviews are fake. First and foremost it’s located on a random side street that was flooded with dark brown foul smelling sewage. The beach that’s near by is also not nice at all. Lots of seaweed, bad smell, etc. They clearly haven’t done any maintenance on this property at all. It looks nothing like the pictures online. Everything is dingy and worn. Furniture had rips in it. Power would go out. The rooms were beyond bare minimal. No tv in my bedroom just a hole where the wiring used to be. Security is non existent. The toilet seat was broken. The shower had mold. They just have codes for the room, that you can’t change and are pretty basic. It was so unacceptable that I left after day 1 and went to a nearby resort. Do not even consider staying here if it’s free. Thank me later. Also all of the pictures they post online are from years ago

  Penthouse Suite- Long Term Stay 2022- Overall a great stay!

  Following is my review broken down into key categories: Hosts and Property Management: Daviana (and her husband Manuel) are amazing hosts. Although we did not meet in person we communicated via WhatsApp and /or Airbnb and I found them to be very accessible, pleasant, and accommodating. Any issues we had with the penthouse were taken care of quickly and efficiently. The super host ranking is very well deserved!! Bertho the manager of the property is great. He is Daviana’s property maintenance/manager who lives on the property, and the person who took care of everything that was needed. Location: Chateau del Mar is in a fantastic location, less than 100 steps from the beach. It is also within walking distance of many great restaurants, a supermarket/mini mart and even a small slot machine casino. One important thing to note is that there is A LOT of new builds/ construction around the Chateau making the road a hazard and quite messy. Also, when it rains the road right in front of the Chateau turns into a mini lake. (No drainage /sewers). Do not bring nice shoes as they will be ruined by the dust, mud, and water. The Penthouse: Check in was seamless and love the fact that it is a keypad lock so no need to worry about keys. The star of this property is the rooftop pool terrace. We spent most of our time there enjoying the pool, and the beautiful ocean views. The wicker patio furniture and cushions are not only attractive but also extremely comfortable! The living /dining room/kitchen area is spacious and the huge TV with firestick was great. The kitchen was well equipped for all our needs. The bedrooms are nice with comfortable mattresses and pillows and white crisp bedding that was changed weekly by the cleaning staff. Nice bathrooms with large walk-in showers. What’s Included: Water cooler with 8L gallon of water that is replenished when empty. Just call Bertho and within minutes we had water! Toilet paper, paper towels, dish washing soap and hand liquid soap is supplied on arrival and replenished when needed. Electricity Air conditioners in main living area as well as each of the three bedrooms, that worked well at cooling the spaces. Wi-Fi – which was GREAT! On any given day we had 6 devices on the Wi-Fi with people working remotely, taking video calls and we had no issues at all! What could be improved: Given we loved our stay these are just suggestions that would take it from very good to excellent!The penthouse would benefit from a “refresh”: a fresh coat of paint, fresh caulking on all windows, sliding doors and showers, brighter lighting and/or vanity mirrors in bathrooms, a new toilet in terrace bathroom, railing on pool stairs. The overall building and its staircase could also use a paint job. Also, the laundry room/area could use a “makeover.” Highly recommend!

  Daviana Is wonderful, The place looks even much better in person it was clean the staff was friendly and Berto especially was an amazing he was very helpful in guiding us around and had great recommendations for places to go and eat or adventure. The host has her own guidebook which was also helpful I visit a few of those places and I didn’t regret it. if you’re thinking about coming to Punta Cana this is the best place to come you won’t regret it you’ll love the experience we’re on the beach and everything is so close by one or five-minute walk. The host Was helpful in finding Transportation and Covid testiing, and etc. Thank you so much for going above and beyond for my friends and I we had a great time.
