    Went on June 6-10, 2026 Worst experience with an all-inclusive ever ( I guess one has to be rated worst, this is an easy choice ). Reservations for 4 rooms, 2 sets of parents each with 2 young adult daughters, reservations requested to be close to each other. When we check in each rooms is on a different floor. First night at the resort and the AC unit is not working at all. 91 degrees in the room with thermostat set to 68 when we checked in at 3pm. 5 attempts throughout the night ( 1 call, 4 visits to the front desk ) to have someone look at the unit and no one ever shows. Front desk was less than courteous, even rude at one point when I requested a water bottle. Resort remined us of Wildwood NJ in the Dominican, some very loud and rude quest, throwing cups and bottles off the balconies to the ground below. Grounds were clean and spacious for the most part but some areas need updating, fixing, cleaning. I really feel bad for the Waitstaff & Bartenders, they really try but the front desk, the face of facility, fail in their duties hurting the whole facility.

    I was gonna stay here cuz I read great reviews until social media revealed the proof. TikTok is telling me something different. Food sucks, water doesnt work, power goes out, toilets don’t work properly, it’s more of a spring break hotel, not a family friendly hotel, check in took 2 hours, bugs in the room, dirty sheets… thanks. I’ve heard enough.

    If you're looking for a party all day and night, this is the place. There's never a dull moment; there's always something to do. If you prefer a quieter atmosphere, there are also areas for that. The buffet food is excellent; there's no need to bother with the specialty restaurants, although they are also very good. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for seniors, as it could be overwhelming for them given the number of young people who frequent it.

    Visited here in 2017. Was hesitant to go back because of reviews listed now but so wrong! It was fun. Definitely get better service w/tipping even though it says no tipping. Beds could use a change, very hard. All ages 18+ would still go back again!

    Extremely Disappointing Stay – Filthy Rooms, Mold, No AC, and Terrible ServiceI rarely leave negative reviews, but other travelers deserve to know what to expect before booking at Riu Republica.From the moment we arrived, the experience was frustrating. Check-in took over two hours, leaving guests standing around exhausted after traveling. There was little communication from staff, and the entire process felt disorganized and poorly managed.The biggest issue was the condition of the room. The room smelled heavily of mildew, and there was visible mold present. The odor was so strong that it was impossible to ignore and made the room feel dirty and unhealthy. This is not what anyone expects when paying for a resort vacation.The air conditioning did not work, making the room hot, humid, and extremely uncomfortable. Instead of being a place to relax after a day in the sun, the room became another source of frustration.Housekeeping was equally disappointing. The room was not cleaned properly, basic supplies were inconsistent, and overall cleanliness standards appeared to be very low. It felt as though guest comfort and sanitation were not a priority.What should have been a relaxing vacation turned into a series of complaints and inconveniences. Between the mold, mildew smell, lack of air conditioning, poor housekeeping, and excessive wait at check-in, this was one of the most disappointing resort experiences I have had.I cannot recommend Riu Republica and would strongly encourage management to address these serious cleanliness and maintenance issues before more guests have the same experience.
