Location

This finca hotel is ideally situated on the picturesque palm-studded, sugar-white Playa Bavaro beach on the eastern coastline of the Dominican Republic.

Facility

373 junior suites and 373 suites are located on 3 storeys and can be reached by lift. The reception desk is open round the clock. Wireless internet access (for a fee) allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions.     overall a very good experience! Warm friendly staff. Loved the rooms and amenities - very comfortable. The buffets looked picked over toward the end and there were too many areas restricted to Preferred Club - far more than other Secrets. Also, for the size of the hotel the gym was small.

    Fantastic location. Great atmosphere. Good value. The rooms nice. The place was very clean. Noise level was low. The service was expectacular, one of the best parts of the stay.

    Nothing was special or stood out. There are a million different all inclusive resorts that go the extra mile for you, especially the more expensive ones. There was none of that here. Be careful if you buy an excursion through the resort. We booked, what we thought was a catamaran tour that went to a sand bar, beach, and then a blue lagoon. Full bar was included. Well, we never stepped foot on a catamaran. We were transported on a "speed boat" and a "yacht" ( which was basically a 2 story boat with a dance floor. Drinks were served in cups which were slightly larger than dixie cups which didn't even seem worth it. The sand bar and beach were nice but there was no service on the beach which has been my experience in the past. We never went to the blue lagoon either. We honestly thought we got on the wrong tour. Also, we were 1 hour and 45 minutes late back to the hotel from the time the tour desk said we would be back. So we missed our dinner reservations at one of the specialty restaurants. We ended up eating at the buffet, which isn't the worst thing in the world. Just be careful and make sure you know what you are getting.When we checked in, we were hounded by a woman who kept telling us we got a money credit for spa, restaurants, blah blah blah. We entertained her sales pitch until it got a little much. She kept telling us that she worked on commission and that we could help her out. She asked if we could come to breakfast the next morning at 8:45. We said that if we were up, we might come but that we didn't want to commit to anything because we had traveled all day and wanted to relax. She said ok and we left. We got a call the next morning at 8:15 to "confirm our reservation at breakfast at 8:45". Yeah that made us both mad since we were up late having fun and wanted to sleep in.The staff was friendly and personable but nothing special. It seemed as if they were rolling their eyes at people behind their smiles. The entertainment staff was friendly and helpful as well but they seemed more interested in flirting with the younger girls than doing their jobs. They also participated in their own events while guests were waiting to participate (volleyball). The shows were fun though.Housekeeping was decent. We had a bed made and clean towels every day, but again, nothing that stood out or was special. I will say that the place was spotless. So there's thatOverall, meh. Nothing special so we will go elsewhere next time. We had an absolute blast though

    My husband and I had a wonderful time at this resort! This was our first trip alone together since having our daughter and they made everything very easy. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. The beach and the water was wonderful.
