I have been a guest at the Hilton Colon in Guayaquil for years. The team there is very professional and really leave American hospitality in the dust. Priscilla, Jimmy and Katherine of the 9th floor staff are incredible and have helped me, not only in the hotel, but throughout the city. Especially when I leave something at the hotel. Efram has won the heart of one of my friends with his dependable service. I absolutely love the property and care they show their guests.The food is incredible too. Thursday and Friday they have great music in Atrium!

It’s pretty close to the Airport, and it is very well known. I would recommend asking the people at the front desk for recommendations of places to visit, they give tips depending on your interests.

1. We arrived at the hotel at 15:30, yet the room wasn't ready. This is of course annoying because great emphasis is put on guest punctuality when leaving the room. I asked if I would be offred any compensation, maybe a free drink, the desk clerk gave me a puzzled look, signaling to me that this ocurrance is frequent and no compensation is ever offered. I told him I'd be in the restaurant and asked if he'd at least look me up with the key, to which he responded that no, I'd have to return to fetch the key myself.2. There was a graduation party at the premases, which colapsed the elevators. I needed to go to the lobby, so I used the emergency stairs (on my way down). I wanted to use them to return to my room but the door on the ground level could only be opened from the staricase side, so I explained the situation to an employee, who also saw some 30 or more people standing in line for the elevators but he refused to open the door, stating that is was for emplyee use only. So I had to wait for maybe 6 or 8 minutes for an elevator.

Booked the shuttle to and from airport - timely, clear signage, nice drivers. Room nicely equipped and clean. Easy to head to restaurant for good food at reasonable cost and large portions. Managed a quick steam bath in the spa area (included along with a complimentary drink coupon)
