    Excellent hotel with spacious, cool rooms overlooking the Nile. Comfortable beds, Huge fluffy towels, good showers and good food. We really enjoyed our two nights here. We used the laundry service, which was efficient and reasonable in price.

    Absolutely unique and beautiful place to stay, in the Nubian Village on the banks of the Nile. Very distinctive design, super-comfortable beds, fab breakfast, very friendly staff, brilliant evening restaurant next door.... Loved it!

    We stayed here on our arrival to Aswan before our cruise to Luxor on the SS Sudan. Anakato is a colorful Nubian run hotel on the banks of the Nile with a beautiful common sweeping terrace you can enjoy from the private patio adjacent to your spacious room that is colorfully painted in Nubian art. The one story hotel is near the souk to which a staff member will joyfully accompany you to as locals on camels saunter through the neighborhood. Morad ( the minister of happiness) will arrange guide you on local boat rides through the islands situated in the cataract which supports a habitat for several species of herons, kingfishers, and a diverse variety of indigenous and migratory species.A tour to the archeological site on Sahel island on the opposite bank was remarkable for the carvings from the Ptolemaic period carved in the famous granite rocks in Aswan. Your meals are custom prepared and served in the outdoor garden. You may be serenaded by staff members singing and playing on traditional Nubian instruments as you dine on fresh catch from the Nile and fresh vegies. There is a small beach for swimming in the clean water if weather permits. I highly recommend this gem of an accommodation in lieu of the higher end options further north in the city!Carol SNY, USA

    This hotel was beautiful! The rooms are very large and comfortable, each with unique character. The staff could not have been more kind. Every morning we were served a large breakfast buffet with hot and cold items. The food at the restaurant was also delicious. The grounds had lovely seating for relaxing overlooking the Nile. You are steps away from an incredible market with great shopping for Nubian crafts, spices, and more. I don't know how you could stay here and not have a smile on your face.
