    My favorite stay in Egypt

    rating22 Sept 2018

This hotel is definately my favorite stay in the one month trip in Egypt. It located right between Talaat Harb Square and Orabi Square, metro station and Egyptian museum are in walking distance. The room is quite big, good shower, comfortable bed, and most of all, good people here. The owner Mohamed owns a travel agency but he never tried to push me on any tours, instead he gave me a lot of suggestions and helped me write in Arabic. After knowing my bad plan of night bus arriving Cairo in the morning then train to Aswan in the evening, he even offered me a room to get rest. So due to my weird traveling plan I stayed here 3 times in one month, Mohamed and staffs are like brothers and friends, always nice and willing to help. Will definitely stay here again if I go back to Cairo, highly recommend.

My fifth stay here, always great.

    rating19 Oct 2017

Yeah it is my fifth stay at Cairo moon hotel. They have been busy decorating since I was there last August. Only little noisy at times. Staff are mostly the same and remain friendly and efficient. The room is large enough. The shower is on the small side but the water was piping hot.Highly recommended.

This hotel is a duplex located on the 8th floor of an easy-to-find building, accessible by two lifts. The neighbourhood is packed with shops of all sorts ... barber shops, bakeries, eateries, tea shops, juice shops, & most importantly, ice-cream & sweet shops. Banks, $ changers, tube stations, the fruit market, the Egyptian Museum, the Nile river, the Immigration offices, the post office, & even two Egyptian-style cinemas, are all a stone's throw away. Grocers' stay open 24 hours.Best of all, there are no tourists now, so you can have the entire city to yourself! The touts are gone. As a tourist, you're treated cordially by the locals, except by taxi drivers, and will feel as safe as in Japan or Singapore ... except when crossing the roads, that is.The hotel itself is deliciously homely.Mohammed, the owner, is always around in the evenings, sipping tea with the guests in the lounge or in the ample balcony attached to it, where guests sit & chat the evenings away. There's a computer desktop in the lounge which guests can use (free of charge).Mohammed is able to organize excursions around Cairo & Egypt. Do check with him if you're interested. And although he runs his own tour company, tours are never pushed on guests. No pushing, no giving out misleading information, no scams, no rudeness.Rooms 801 & 802 come with their own private balconies where you can sit & relax to your heart's content. You pay a tad more for the privilege, but they are well worth the extra bit.Bath towel, toilet rolls & soap bars are included in the room rate. And so is the delectable breakfast!: bread, hard-boiled egg, one serving of jam & one of cheese, plus a choice of tea or coffee ... and not just any coffee but Egyptian coffee, served in a traditional minuscule coffee cup, the only coffee on Earth which can rightfully be called a delight! In addition, there is a fully equipped common kitchen for guests to use, and a washing machine. The one thing one does not find here, thankfully, is people drinking alcohol or smoking anything other than cigarettes.Oh, and don't worry about the mosques' call to prayer. It might or might not wake you up. If it does now and then, just pinch yourself ... you may well be in the middle of a marvellous dream! king2240, Owner at Cairo Moon Hotel, responded to this review Thank you fernando for your review we wish to see you agine in your home
