  A serious noise issue

  The (#704) room was spacious and well appointed. Unfortunately, it connected with the neighboring room and had precisely zero soundproofing. The staff appeared to be aware it might be a problem, were apologetic, but did precisely nothing to remedy it.

  We have been visiting this place for years. And every year it is getting worse. I guess, they have changed the manager or they have no manager anymore. We booked a double suite. for us and our kids, with inner door. They were not giving us the key of the inner door to lock it and unlock it when we wish. They kept the key and when we asked for it, the man at the reception asked me “why do you want to lock the door, it’s your kids afterall, isnt it ?” (LOL!!) Between our suites and the other rooms beside us, there was no sound isolation. It was terrible. We could hear the people there talking walking and laughing loud till 03.00 am.. the Netflix in the room was not working, and when we complained to the reception, they told us they will have a look, but they never did. The bed springs are so old and crusty that they will leave marks on your back. The rooms are not clean enough. Our air condition in one of the two rooms, was making noise like a car alarm, non stop. They offered us to change the room from the second day, but we couldn’t pack again suitcases from two rooms, and thats the only reason we denied it. We had to be patient and endure the terrible noise. They didnt have someone to fix it. The breakfast this time was terrible. They were even lazy to write beside every thing that they served, what on earth it is.. we had to guess what we were eating. And people who dont eat pork or have allergies couldnt take the risk to have a bite. They served the same bloody cake for 3 days in a row , till it was so hard like bread. Once i asked for fried eggs, cause i saw that the tray was empty. The man in charge told me that in 5 minutes they will be refilled. I waited for 20 minutes. Nothing. Then i asked again one lady of the staff and she told me “it wont be refilled cause in 10 minutes we are closing the buffet anyway”… so, this is the service level of Theoxenia Hotel, which used to be a diamond, and it is for sure the last time we went there. Thats a pity, for such a great location and such a glorious past.

  A luxurious looking building in a really convenient location. Lots of nice restaurants around. The hotel is fine but definitely not a 5 star. A 3 star at a push. Rooms are tired, shower in the bathroom was broke, pool area wasn't maintained and the breakfast is generally poor. In terms of the staff, the guy at reception who checked me in was so friendly but all other staff were unfriendly and abrupt.

  I wish I’d read the review below mine before booking. Believe it. I had to give 1 star, as you have to give at least 1 in order to leave a review.I reiterate all of it: Rock hard old mattresses with coils sticking out.Rude or non existent service especially at breakfast.I’d add, my room overlooked a bar/restaurant. Kept up until midnight with the music and noise last night - which was a Monday. The food is bland. Pizza for breakfast? I asked for a coffee in the morning as the serve yourself filter had ran out. He came over, shook it and tipped it to give me the dregs. All of that done like I was an inconvenience. It’s not a 5 star. I’d give it a 2. Please don’t book this hotel.

  Terrible hotel

  Let’s go in order: - Completely absent attention to the client. Staff is unprepared and bothered by anything you might ask them.- The carpets in the halls were filthy with multiple stains- The room was not clean, I found multiple hair on the chair close to the desk and on the towels in the bathroom as well as dust all around the room - I checked the bed and it was not dirty thankfully. Nevertheless it was incredibly uncomfortable and I could feel all the metal springs - I went to breakfast the first morning and the service was completely absent, no one greeted me in any way or asked what I wanted to drink for example (there are no coffee machines to make a cappuccino/tea/espresso/etc on your own so I would expect that someone asks me) - On the second day I went again for breakfast and took an orange juice from the dispenser; I saw something dark floating in the dispenser, but did not pay attention to it until I noticed it in my glass and took a closer look - it was a worm (!!!). I told the waitress and she came back to me sayin that it was a dark piece of apple (…) - I left it there because I did not want to discuss, but please check the pictures and let me know. Also, it was orange juice so not sure how the apple thingy ended up there. Overall I have no idea how they got 5 stars, but this place should just close. Everything about it was unacceptable and unprofessional. Do yourself a favour and never go to this place.
