Avoid it. The noise is unbearable.

    rating02 Feb 2026

Unfortunately the reviews here don’t tell the whole story. The hotel is located in the centre of Cairo and it’s only nice thing is that the room is big. Apart from that, the building is old & pretty outside but on the inside is just filthy. Our room was very dirty (white socks turning black with just a walk to the toilet) and the bathtub was broken but the most outrageous thing is that they don’t have windows. The windows don’t have glass and the noise is unbearable. The traffic outside is nonstop (egyptians use their horn even when they sleep) and you can hear like you are on the street. Place some glasses, don’t offer earplugs.

A Charming Stay in the Heart of Historic Cairo

    rating21 Nov 2025

Staying at Tahrir Plaza Suites was a wonderful experience, especially because of its unbeatable downtown Cairo. My room had a lovely city view, and to watch the vibrant Cairo streets come alive each morning was truly memorable. The staff were warm, attentive(though there was a lady manager who was quite noisy) and made the stay comfortable with excellent service and in-room breakfast. What made the stay even more special was the charm of the 250-year-old historic building, which adds a unique sense of character that modern hotels rarely provide. The high ceilings and spacious, thoughtfully decorated rooms made it feel both elegant and authentic. A bit of street noise comes with being at the heart of Cairo, but the overall experience — culture, location, views, and atmosphere — easily outweighs it.

    Friendly, comfortable, and great location

    rating22 Jun 2025

I love this hotel. The rooms are nice and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. And the location is phenomenal. My room had a view of the Egyptian Museum. It's right across the street. There are shops, restaurants, mosques, and night markets surrounding the hotel. Not to mention, it's near the Nile River. They also offer airport transportation and they work with local drivers/tour guides. I booked a Nile Dinner Cruise and a Cairo day tour through the hotel. Both tours were fun and informative. There's a binder with about 20 tour options in the hotel room. I typically book day trips through local operators after arrival; so I really appreciated the option of browsing and booking through the hotel.

I spent a week in Cairo and I stayed in Tahrir Plaza Suites.Great location in central Cairo, literally facing the Old Egyptian Museum. The rooms are spacious and super clean.Room services are top.The only downside is the lift, you have to be careful when you use the lift especially disabled people.

    Amazing Staff

    rating15 Mar 2025

As others have said, the entrance to this hotel is nothing impressive however once you enter the hotel on the second floor that all changes. The staff are one of the most helpful and friendly I have ever encountered, they could not do enough for us. We were only here for one night to visit the Pyrmaids on our way home from Sharm. The hotel organised pick up and drop off transfers from the airport and also organised our tour. We were able to drop our luggage to the hotel on the way to our tour, the guide even rang ahead and the staff came down to collect our bags from the car, we didn't even have to get out. The transfers and tour were very reasonably priced. They were also very accomodating when our flight was delayed on arrival. The room is large with a full sized fridge, air conditioning and a large comfortable bed. They brought us fresh juice to our room after we arrived which was very thoughtful and also helped us to work the tv eventhough there was no English speaking channels. We expected the noise as we were in the middle of a busy city but still manged to sleep fine. We had a little balcony in our room with a view of the museum across the road.
