This is a 2 Star hotel. It’s located in Giza which is suppose to be a nice area of Cairo. While the staff are friendly and helpful the place is very noisey, the beds are hard as rocks and the showers don’t have much water pressure and that’s if you can get hot water at all. I stayed here as a part of a basic tour booking so I suppose I got what I paid for - $46AUD per night. I was here three times throughout the tour and each room had the same issues. It is close to a pharmacy and some local clean restaurants and if you are only staying a night or two it would be ok, any longer and I’d recommend something a bit better.

Tolerable place to stay - neighborhood cats were best feature!

    rating19 Oct 2019

We stayed in this hotel 3 separate times, as a part of out Intrepid tour itinerary. The first room (although we arrived for early check in and were luckily assigned a room), was very poorly cleaned, and few redeeming features otherwise. The second room assignment was smaller (very small!), but cleaner, and the third was the best, with a larger floor plan, and much cleaner (plus had toilet paper, towels, and a decent shower head - yeah!!!). There is a gang of the sweetest neighbourhood kitties who live outside, and a local Metro (grocery store (which are VERY hard to find in Egypt), and so was able to get cat food and treat them each time we were there. It is a totally fine place to stay, but if you are looking for luxury, definitely look elsewhere!

    Budget hotel in Cairo

    rating27 May 2019

This is a budget hotel, but could provide a better service. The hotel is located about a50-60 minute walk to the Nile in a noisy and dirty area of Cairo. However most of Cairo is noisy and dirty, but the people are friendly and generally welcoming. Issues:The rooms are very basic but clean. There was no hot water, fridges generally didn’t work, air con was old and noisy, breakfast very basic and on occasion served by the cleaners. Lots of men hang around the lobby - not in a nasty way, just friends of the owners I think and sit and chat.If you are after a basic budget hotel to basically just sleep at night it fits that bill - there is a supermarket opposite (a rare thing) and a couple of ok restaurants within 10-15 minute walking distance

    Zero Star Hotel

    rating24 Mar 2019

Intrepid needs to improve its selection of hotels for its clients. This place is a dump. Filthy hardly begins to describe the condition of the walls, floors and carpets. Mold is present everywhere, including the spare pillows and blankets in the closet. The toilets and sinks leak (in a desert country where water is precious), the toilet paper is not fit to blow one's nose, shower curtains fail to contain water thus soaked floors, pillows are disgusting and and.... Anyway, stay away from here if you have allergies, you will not survive. Wifi is spotty, breakfast is marginal, noise levels (as all over Cairo) are high. This place may have been nice once upon a time but now it needs a complete makeover, and I mean complete.

    House of horrors....

    rating16 Jan 2019

I wasn't expecting much... But even then it has to be one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. On a positive note the doors locked... But if you want something clean, with hot water and more than an hours quiet each night... This place should be avoided. If you're on a tour with a group.. Which are the people who largely use this place.. And you have to stay... Check a few rooms as some are better than others... Also, you'll sometimes need to run the hot water for 15mins to get it to come through... If it comes through.
