very friendly staff, clean historical hotel and very delicious food.the hotel is located at the center of Cairo, 10 minutes taxi drive to the US Embassy.very calm , safe and nice place for singles, couples and families.the rooms at the back are quite, and rooms with the street view are noisy.

    Scam!!!!Scam!!!Scam!!!!

    rating24 Aug 2018

This is a scam. The hotel victoria has been closed for approximately 6 mnths. They take your money then put you in a flea pit costing less than half the victoria. After a week in cairo, its safe to say, this is the normal attitude. The pyramids are a dump, littered with dead horses ( literally ridden to death). The famous hospitality consists of...' give me all your money or I stop smiling and start shouting' puerile in the extreme.

    Amazing place

    rating23 May 2018

I am bahraini student in cairo.Sometimes when i choose to relax from work and studying i choose this hotel despite i stay in nasr city in our rented flat.If you are looking for a simple budget hotel with clean bedrooms and comfortable beds with ambient lightning and dark bar and simple egyptian food then this is the best choice for you.The staff are really respectful , they can go extra mile easily to get your work or wish done. Down sides :The employee kept asking me for the payment on a daily basis which was annoying , this does not happen in 5 star hotels!!Some rooms can block your cell phone internet connection.Windows cannot be open , flies and mosquitos will invade you in seconds

    In the center of Cairo

    rating09 Mar 2018

This place is way, way past its prime, with dark hallways, a smoky bar, acceptable-at-best breakfasts, and beds with a "basic" mattress. . But the rooms are roomy, clean, and with plenty of towels and hot water. the staff could not have been more helpful. Most of all, it has a great location if you are a person who want to truly experience Cairo. Don't listen to the moron who said that this was in the center of the "worst neighborhood" in the city; I'm no expert, but he is obviously ill informed, at best. This neighborhood IS Cairo and if that's the experience you want, you should not hesitate to go. And, btw, it's an unbelievable bargain

You get more than what you paid for!

    rating04 Jan 2018

Reception and service: The female receptionist was a bit rude and unfriendly. Apart from her, all of the services we received from other employees are excellent!Room: They upgraded us to a bigger room. Quaint, simple, nice, spacious, brightly lit, spotless clean for both the room and bathroom.Breakfast: We were very surprised with the interior and settings of the breakfast restaurant and the variety of choices they had for the price we paid. Good delicious breakfast. Marvellous Victorian settings and deco.Location: Very near to the Ramsis train station. The downside: the corridors are not brightly lit, so it was a bit dim and dark and feel a bit spooky and haunted. But of course it's not, just a feeling. Another thing is I do not like the bedsheets. What I like best: The designs, interior and the sparkly clean room. Definitely better than the Windsor Hotel in Alexandria.
