Location

This hotel is located within the exclusive holiday destination of Soma Bay, which features some of the most beautiful sandy beaches of the Red Sea and year-round sunshine. Guests will find the Orca Diving Centre about 20 m from the hotel doorstep and it is only 1 km to the 7Bft Kite Centre and about 2 km to the centre of Safaga. Soma Bay is conveniently located just 48 km from Hurghada International Airport, 4 hours' flight from Central Europe.

Facility

The resort has 173 rooms, which are located on 3 storeys and are reachable by lift. The reception desk in the lobby is staffed round the clock. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine. Wireless internet access (no extra charge) is provided in public areas. The resort offers a number of facilities for guests with disabilities. The resort has wheelchair-accessible facilities. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park. Other services include a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, room service, an alarm call service, a laundry service, a hairdresser, a page service and a hotel shuttle bus.

Rooms

Air conditioning ensures that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. A balcony with a partial sea view is included in most units and encourages guests to linger a while. From their rooms guests enjoy a beautiful sea view. Extra beds or children's beds can be provided upon request. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. Other features include a telephone, satellite television and WiFi (no extra charge). Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a hairdryer.

Sport

While the adults swim a few laps in the outdoor pool, children can enjoy splashing about in their own swimming area. A terrace with sun loungers and parasols is available. A variety of activities are available at the resort, for example bocce, beach volleyball and volleyball or, for a fee, golf and horse riding. Sport and leisure options include callisthenics or, for a fee, billiards and yoga. A wellness area with a sauna provides a great opportinity to unwind after a long day. Additional services available for a fee include a beauty salon and massage treatments Entertainment options and leisure facilities include an entertainment programme and live music.

Meals

The dining area includes a restaurant and a bar. Refreshing drinks at the beach bar are a perfect way to enjoy warm weather. Half board can be booked. A delicious and varied buffet is prepared for breakfast and dinner every day, and a set menu can be ordered at lunch. Diet meals, gluten-free meals and vegetarian dishes can be prepared on request.

    Excellent choice in Soma Bay

    We normally stay at the Kempinski at Soma Bay, but as the Sheraton had been face-lifted and is much nearer the Jetty, we decided on a change.Check-in was excellent, our room was ready early. Front of house were very efficient throughout our stay. Rooms have been renovated to a good standard, the bed could be better and the shower is a bit weak.Breakfast was first class, chef Sherif went out of his way to help.Italian restaurant was very good a la carte. The food at And More was not as good but the service was great.The pool umbrellas were not good as they can't be put up when windy and its usually windy here! Some of the new chairs are seriously uncomfortable.All in all an excellent stay that exceeded our expectations.

    First visit after renovation Nice hard product all around -room, restaurant and new lounge- can compete with mostSt Regis and RC - whole day nice snacks and drinks including wine and beer.Another important improvement- restaurant, food is really good and different every day.Services are also improved and sometimes I had a feeling l am in good hands of StR butler or even better!We already made a reservation for October, can’t wait to see renewed Seafood restaurant!

    We come to this resort at least once, more likely twice a year for 7-14 days, and we truly feel like we are in a second home here. Every team member does everything and more to make the guests happy and embodies the enthusiasm for hospitality and friendliness. We notice this and therefore feel so wonderful here. Cleanliness and hygiene are of utmost importance: in a country where many things are amiss, guests can easily drink from any tap and enjoy any salad. Of course, the hotel is also in a dream location. Those who want to indulge a bit stay in one of the villas and enjoy not only the already provided level of comfort but also a quiet luxury that simply feels good.

    I had a truly wonderful stay at Sheraton Soma Bay, and this hotel always feels like a second home. The location is beautiful, the beach is amazing, and the overall atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing.What made this stay extra special was the incredible hospitality from the team. A very special thank you to Mr. Hamada Mamdouh, the Room Director, for the amazing upgrade and for making my stay much more enjoyable. His professionalism and personal care made a real difference, and honestly, he is one of the main reasons I will definitely come back again and again.Special thanks as well to Mr. Monsef from Guest Relations for his warm welcome and kind attitude from the first moment.I would also like to sincerely thank Ms. Noha Kamal, the Quality Manager, for the lovely gifts sent to the suite. She is truly one of those wonderful personalities that people are always happy to see.A big thank you to Sayed from the restaurant for his daily kindness and excellent service.
