    An extremely bad experience

Run! The hotel was pathetic! The rooms were dirty and breakfast pathetic! The staff was courteous Amon, at Amon Hotel, responded to this review Thank you very much for your review, but please, you could have stated your general dissatisfaction without writing these sentences. Alternatively, you could have gone to the reception desk to find a solution. Unfortunately, everyone knows what the Amon Hotel is like. Thank you again for your review.

Peaceful garden centered Hotel on the West Bank a boat ride away from the East side

    rating06 Dec 2025

Perfect choice if you are looking for a great value/great location option with a touch of magic and rural West Bank vibes. From the price and the room reviews, we knew that it wouldn't be a luxury hotel, but for the kind of trip we were looking for, it was perfect for us. Overall excellent experience for a 3 nights stay at Amon Hotel. Having breakfast in the garden every morning is clearly a highlight for us. Also, the fact that we were at 8min walk from the ferry and other boats made easy our daily trips to the East Bank. It was nice to be able to go to the East Side and touristic spots everyday but to be able to comeback to the quiet and peaceful garden of Amon Hotel at the end of each day. Thank you to the owners and staff, which offered a super service.

Great location for the Valley of the Kings! The staff are wonderful and helpful! Near the town for cafes and restaurants. Horse riding and tours can be arranged at good prices!

A Hidden Gem in Luxor — The Heartfelt Charm of Amon Hotel

    rating23 Oct 2025

Tucked away down sandy laneways in a quiet local neighbourhood, Amon Hotel feels less like a hotel and more like being welcomed into an Egyptian family home. From the moment we arrived, we were met with smiles, warmth, and genuine hospitality — the kind that instantly makes you feel at ease. Each meal was a highlight in itself. The traditional Egyptian home-style dishes were bursting with flavour and prepared with such love that every bite felt like a cultural experience. We were looked after like VIPs, yet treated like old friends. After long days exploring the wonders of Luxor, the sparkling pool was a little oasis — calm, clean, and perfectly refreshing under the afternoon sun. The rooms are quirky, traditional, and spotless, blending Egyptian character with simple comfort.Mornings at Amon were pure magic. Sitting outside with breakfast, coffee in hand, we watched hot air balloons drift silently over the Valley of the Kings. There’s no TV in the rooms, but we didn’t even notice until our final night — who needs one when the rhythm of local life and the sound of evening calls to prayer fill the air so beautifully?Amon Hotel isn’t luxury in the polished sense — it’s something far more special. It’s authentic, peaceful, and full of heart. The kind of place that lingers in your memory long after you’ve left.

    Warm and Friendly Hospitality

    rating09 Sept 2025

The Amon Hotel is a charming, family run place to call home while you explore Luxor and the Valley of the Kings. The staff is warm, attentive and friendly. Every need was taken care of. We enjoyed the beautiful courtyard and immaculate swimming pool, outside dining and a spacious, clean and comfortable room. The fountains and birds and well-tended greenery made it an oasis. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts of omelets, local cheese, breads, yoghurt, local bananas and juices. Our dinner on the patio of soup, chicken, beef, rice, vegetables, salad, bread, hummus was generous and satisfying. Its location on a quiet neighborhood street was convenient to the Nile’s West Bank. It felt like we were at the heart of the village and welcomed as friends.
