Guests have a choice of 236 rooms. The friendly staff at the reception desk in the lobby are happy to answer any questions.     Non-Luxory Standard Five-Star Luxor Resort

    Hilton Honors classifies Hilton hotels within its second tier of properties, directly under its luxury brands. This is correct in respect of the Hilton Luxor as it does not bear comparison with the nearby luxury Old Winter Palace at which I have stayed several times. This Hilton resort is a group-focussed mega property with 235 rooms, half of which face away from the Nile. Another 25% have oblique partial Nile views through a small window. Aside from 8 suites, only 14 deluxe rooms (5%) have useable balconies with decent Nile views - the remaining 'French balcony' rooms have no space even to step out on. The swimming pool area is over complex (not amenable to actual swimming) and the gardens relatively basic, but the Nile frontage area is fantastic especially in the early evening. The bar and restaurant areas are well thought out, but stay well away from the Egyptian house wine and breakfast coffee (which both need to be radically upgraded). Even in a deluxe Nile view room, too many things needed to be fixed - the dingy lights were replaced, the non-functioning fridge was changed, and the batteries in the bathroom scales replaced. The furniture on the balcony was unacceptably dirty (and had to be covered with a towel). So why, then, do I give a five-star review? This is because of the super excellent staff at the property who immediately run to fix every problem and apologise for them. I was particularly impressed with Mr Ahmet (the Chief Concierge) and Ms Meram (from Guest Relations) - without them, this review would have been four star. I spent much of my visit working in my room and, for this, a deluxe Nile view room adjacent to the magical river was excellent. But I would not stay, even for free, in any of the more than 200 standard rooms.

    We had a wonderful stay at the Hilton Resort & Spa Luxor. The hotel is beautifully located right on the banks of the Nile, offering stunning views and a relaxing atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally friendly and always willing to help, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. The buffet was excellent, with a wide variety of delicious dishes to choose from every day. Another big advantage is the location: the hotel is close to Luxor’s main attractions and historical sites, making it the perfect base for exploring this fascinating city. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Luxor!     Hilton Luxor is an excellent choice. Fabulous location on the Nile across from Valley of the Kings. Pool facilities are top class, great choice of restaurants in resort and the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Very friendly and professional staff with special praise for Aya and Mohammed Adel in the breakfast lounge- great choice of breakfast foods also. We will be back.
