    Perfect stay

    rating05 May 2026

We stayed at Tallink City Hotel for a short city break and it turned out to be a very solid choice. The location is probably the best in town. Just few minutes from old town, the hip shopping and restaurant district Rotermanni quartal and across the street from a shopping mall. Perfect if you want to travel on foot. The lobby is really spacious. There are enough seating areas to either wait comfortably or just sit with a drink. It never felt overcrowded, even during busier hours.Dinner at City Grill House was a highlight and worth planning ahead for. If you enjoy grilled food, this place delivers. The kitchen clearly knows how to handle meat properly – the steak was cooked exactly as requested and the sides you can pick yourself, which was nice. We also had the duck salad, which was recommended to us by the waiter and it really delivered - so much flavour in one dish. Oh and the desserts - really enjoyed the fresh and delicate greek yoghurt ice cream with nuts :) The room was exactly what you want after a long day in the city – clean, quiet, and well thought out, on the smaller side but had a nice touch with the window seats with pillows, which you could sit on and enjoy the city view. Beds were comfy and had no problem with noise from the corridors. Lovely breakfast with lots of hot and cold options. If I had to point out one thing: during peak times the hotel gets busy, so planning your restaurant visit slightly earlier is a smart move.Overall, this is a hotel that delivers on what it promises – good location, good service, and a restaurant that is actually worth visiting :) Sandra P, Guest Services / Front Office at Tallink City Hotel, responded to this review Dear Kadri,Thank you very much for your wonderful review of your stay at Tallink City Hotel. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed our central location, spacious lobby atmosphere, comfortable rooms, and breakfast selection. It is especially rewarding to know that your dinner experience at City Grill House was one of the highlights of your visit — your kind words about the steak, duck salad, and desserts will certainly make our kitchen and service team very happy. We also appreciate your helpful note about peak restaurant hours, as it will surely be useful for future guests as well.Thank you once again for choosing our hotel for your city break. We hope to welcome you back to Tallinn again soon.Warm regards,Tallink City Hotel Team

    Worst beds ever, otherwise average

    rating18 Feb 2026

Great location, silent personnel (Nobody greets or saying anything, except one Finnish young man who was in breakfast reception one day), room was very clean and modern but drinking glass had very visible lip gloss and lips marks (from a room user before us or glass washing is bad) and room had superbad adult beds (worst ever and the softest ever, got instant hip ache even being 85 kg athlete and not minding if I sleep on a wooden plank or bad bed but this was the worst ever faced - if you are much much lighter -> welcome but if heavier -> forget it if don't want to compete in swamp soccer during your dreams) and broken children bed. On 6th floor you don't need an alarm clock as you will hear loud tram noise from 6am to 23pm (our room windows were facing Viru keskus). Breakfast was pretty ok except bacon and eggs were cold every day (also rosti potatoes served cold so they should turn on the heaters) and plates were supersmall -> people had to take 10 plates instead of 2 normal and it caused some queing and rushing. You could not fit 2 slices of bread on one plate. Also yogurt bowls were super small - 2 spoons of yogurt and 1 spoon of berries + 2 spoons of oats lead to overflow / pile of things. Why just don't put normal size bowls/plates so waiters/waitresses would not need to gather thousands of plates from tables? Or is it psychological - the smaller the plates the smaller amount of food they think people will eat and hotel is saving some money/food? Not gonna happen, now you need your own plate for everything. Positive is that you get a lot of steps during breakfasts...Stayed with 2 adults and 2 kids. Kids room and "fitness stairs" etc. is really a joke that everyone should see by theirselves :D Sandra P, Guest Services / Front Office at Tallink City Hotel, responded to this review Dear Matti L,Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback following your stay in Tallink City Hotel. We truly appreciate your comments regarding our location and the cleanliness of the room. At the same time, we are genuinely sorry to read that several aspects of your visit did not meet your expectations. We understand that comfort – whether it concerns bedding, room location, breakfast setup or service style – is highly individual. Our aim is always to provide a pleasant experience for all our guests, yet we fully acknowledge that preferences and needs vary greatly. It is clear that on this occasion, our offering was not aligned with what you and your family were looking for, and for that we sincerely regret the disappointment caused.Your remarks have been shared with the relevant teams for review and consideration.
