Very Good Hotel

Spent a few days staying at the Crowne Plaza Helsinki, a very good hotel which is well situated on Mannerheimintie road with easy access to the tram network and if you like a short 10 min walk into the city centre. Stayed in a King Premium Club lounge room which was well laid out with seperate bathroom, the bed was comfortable and cleanliness was very good. The only downside to the room was that it had an adjoining door to the room next door and the occupant of that room for thefirst couple of nights had their tv on until 3.00am (although the volume was very low) the room gave us access to the Club Lounge which although on the slightly small side was never over subscribed, the afternoon canopes and happy hour was from 6.00 - 8.00pm which made for a nice change to be later to allow for more sightseeing, the food selction was nice and varied as was the wine & beers, breakfast also taken in the lounge was a full range of cold meats, cereals, fresh fruits, pastries & some hot selections, service by the staff throughout the hotel was excellent, the bar area was just across from the mian reception, next to the restaurant, this is a good hotel if you are visiting Helsinki on business or as a tourist.

An excellent first visit to Helsinki

My first solo trip abroad and wow what a trip it was! I visited from 29th May to the 2nd June and the atmosphere of Helsinki was truly amazing! So many celebrations and cultural events were taking place. First of all, the location of the hotel is superb! The location provides a short 15minute scenic walk along the Central Park towards the town centre.My room and the hotel in general looked fantastic. Both modern and sophisticated which I was extremely impressed with. The breakfast options were great and had a plethora of choices available.My first trip to Helsinki but certainly not my last! Wonderful hotel and amazing staff

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza for the marathon and it was a perfect base for that - 5 mins walk to the start line at the Olympic stadium. It was a very pleasant 20 min walk along the waterfront to the shops and harbour. It was close to some very nice restaurants and my boyfriend loved the beer selection at the hotel bar. The room was beautifully fitted in a modern style and we loved the local chocolates. Such a nice touch. Top housekeeping every day. The breakfast was so varied - fantastic hot and cold selections, omelettes on demand, juices and smoothies. I also enjoyed trying some Finnish specialities too. We checked out the gym and pool in the basement which was of a very high standard. My thanks also to Merlin on reception and the team behind the scenes who worked really hard to reunite us with a bag we had left at a nearby restaurant that was closed on the day of our flight. The hotel went above and beyond to help us and we couldn’t be more grateful. The team spoke perfect English which was very helpful as we don’t know much Finnish (sorry)! Excellent location and lovely room!

Very good location and nice view from the bedroom! We got greeted well by Miia and the reception team were fabulous and so friendly at all times! The lady who looked after us in the evening (forgot her name) orangy hair is an excellent upseller and recommended us so many things to try which was fabulous for our first evening must try the hisperia spritz! I would say breakfast offerings need to improve and the overall experience I would give it 3/5 , as we stayed for 4 nights would love to have different offerings especially fruits , smoothies every morning. The breakfast service felt very rushed and not many check backs were done. I understand it’s busy but the staff were more focused in clearing plates rather than getting involved in conversations.Overall great location really close to the market square and would definitely come back again! Don't bother with club lounge if Diamond Elite.

Everything about this place was great, but I have to give this a maybe 3 star review!The check in staff on both occasions this week were absolutely amazing this was the best part of hotel!Diamond elite members we get exclusive perks to club lounge, well not much of a club lounge.The breakfast was ok, but the evening time snacks and drinks???? Where were they?? The food was left in sun and not much to offer, the water fountain was not working, had to place dishes on sink, no staff there to help. People coming in and turning around and leaving and we should have followed.Very disappointed!But again the staff downstairs are extremely helpful and soulfully kind.Will I come back to the club lounge.... nope I'll spend my $$ at a restaurant near by.
