Location

The hostel is located in central Helsinki in a unique part of town called Katajanokka, close to the Market Square and in a neighbourhood of Art Nouveau/Jugendstil buildings. The city centre sights, shops and restaurants are all within walking distance and the ferries from Stockholm and Tallinn arrive just a few steps away. The train and bus stations are around 2 km away, while Helsinki - Vantaa Airport is about 18 km from the hostel.

Facility

The hostel welcomes guests in a 6-storey building with a lift and 135 rooms. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and drinks machine. Wireless internet access (for a fee) is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. There are a number of shops as well. Additional amenities include a TV room and a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park.     This is a good option in an expensive city. I had a solo room, the place is very clean, the bathrroms and showers probably should be cleaned more during the day.When this place is quite full I would imagine the bathrooms are not sufficient for the volume. The area is fine and quite close in. The tram stops right outside.All in all it's a really good price/quality option.

    I had a wonderful stay during my time in Helsinki. Although located away from the city center, it is close to the sea, which has a beautiful scene.The hostel has kitchens on the upper floors for preparing meals. They also have fridges for storing food. There is a supermarket on the way to the hostel where you can buy drinks or food. A great option for those who want to stay on a budget.

    Location is perfect: near the port and 10 minutes walking from city center! Excellent relation cost-service! Ideal for short stays (1-2 nights). Totally Eco-friendly. Room could be bigger and better renovated!

    The room had all the essentials, plus it was very close to our terminal in the morning (terminal D), about a 5 minute walk. The staff was very friendly and we got to meet the nightshift dog!!
