Location

This hotel is located in the centre of Helsinki and was established in 1903. Helsinki Cathedral, Senate square, Helsinki City Museum, the market square and the old market hall are all located nearby. Kamppi bus station is just 500 m away and the strand at Hietalahti is only 1 km away. The central train station is just a 10-minute drive away and the airport is 12 km from the hotel.

Facility

The hotel was built in 1903. 48 non-smoking rooms, including 21 double rooms, are located on 3 storeys and can be reached by lift. English-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe and cash machine. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities.     The architecture is so impressive and special but what made our holiday was the human factor. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay so pleasant.Moana was helpful to us on arrival.Mikka at the desk took care of everything with a smile We have certain dietary needs and a word to Klaide and she immediately set the wheels in motion. Miko the chef was so attentive and set on finding the way to ensure our enjoyment. Sara at breakfast was so helpful and kind. And wonderful Jooke, with his welcoming smile and sensitivity, managed the evening meals like a magician keeping everyone happy. He is an immeasurable asset to the hotel.Thank you also to the cleaners, the hotel rooms and the hotel are kept spick and span. Truly above and beyond our expectations.

    Exceptional Value in a Pricey City

    The hotel is located in the design district, about 1 km from the railway station. Included in the price was breakfast (as expected) which featured a selection of hot and cold options as well as tea and coffee. My wife particularly liked the bread choices. But wait, there's more: also included in the price is 'Fika' (tea/coffee and cake in the afternoon) and dinner (hot entree, salads, soup). There was also a still and sparkling water fountain available to use. Wine/beer was offered for a reasonable fee as was dessert. The hotel also has a gym (but we were lazy and didn't use it) and a lovely courtyard where you could have a picnic. Parking is available (for a fee) but we used Bolt and git about just fine.

    The hotel is located not far from the city center, there is a public transport station nearby. The girl at the reception does her job brilliantly, very pleasant and communicative. The room is clean, spacious, towels and everything necessary in the bathroom. Kettle coffee and tea for welcome in the room. The staff at the restaurant are to be commended. Breakfast and dinner (menu known in advance) great, wide selection. A hotel I would like to return to. All recommendations.

    A very unique and historical Hotel, friendly staff. Every room was full of wonderful surprises and the rooms we’re comfortable and clean . Loved dining below the stairs . Felt I was staying in a Hotel with so many wonderful features. Memorable stay

    First of all: It's unacceptable that you cannot open the windows in your room, and that you cannot adjust the aircondition. I adressed this in the reception, but they couldn't do anything about it. Location is OK, food is average. Part of the Strawberry chain. I would probably not select this hotel again. Staff was nice, though.
