    The Hotel Indigo was the worst of the three IHG hotels we stayed in our recent two week trip to Europe, but I would still moderately recommend it. The people at the desk were friendly and helpful. The lady who ran the breakfast was friendly too. The breakfast was a little depressing (more light would help) although you can get a dish made for you in addition to the buffet if you include that in your reservation. The room on the 8th floor was comfortable. The bed slept well, and we had a nice view. The shower had nice pressure. And robes are included.The gym was pretty bad with no heavy weights. It was small and dark. The location was the best part as it was near the Esplanade where a lot of our sightseeing took place. All in all, not a bad stay!     We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the IHG Indigo Helsinki! The location is on an attractive street close to public transport. Calling Ubers when needed was easy pickup/dropoff at the front door. Booked a King Premium room which was quite spacious and came with a complimentary mini bar - WOW! This was so appreciated. That it was restocked daily blew my mind. The rotating TV was a great way to save space and separate the sleeping vs. sitting area. The shower was amazing - a rare 10/10 in our opinion! Factors include: great temperature, great pressure, rain head and handheld sprayer with straightforward controls, a shelf for personal toiletries, luxury shampoo/conditioner/shower gel provided (full bottles), fully enclosed shower (not the dreaded half panel), roomy, sparkling clean, and attractive tilework. We've used a lot of European hotel showers and this was a rare perfect score. :)I have IHG Platinum Elite status through my credit card (Chase Sapphire Reserve) which may have influenced this but I don't think so. The official status benefit was either points or 2 complimentary beers and a snack in the bar - we picked the beers and snacks and enjoyed them very much - the young women staffing the bar were lovely.The staff was certainly a highlight! From welcome to checkout, it was evident the staff understands great customer service. They were friendly, helpful, and never stuffy. Our bags didn't make our flight so we were without luggage for 2 of our 3 night stay. They gave us toothbrushes, shaving kit, other essentials and were kind and communicative about our luggage delivery from the airline. The hotel has a lovely design with a modern Finnish and maritime aesthetic. The lobby and bar areas are comfortable and relaxed. The room hallways even smelled like blueberries (in a good way) - took us back to Lapland! We noticed and appreciated the little details. We would not hesitate to stay here again!     Conveniently located nearby to Central Train Station. Easy flat walk from the station and to many of the attractions including Kauppatori. Choose from many restaurants all around this area if you need to.Our checkin experience was excellent, lots of info given in response to our questions about the area. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Excellent shower and good quality towels. Excellent sleep quality…our room was silent!Breakfast was ok, a variety of choices available in a relaxed environment. (Some breakfast rooms are chaos, but this was comfortable.) The wifi in our room was a bit slow sometimes.     We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Indigo. It was very central and within walking distance of all the attractions, restaurants and areas that we wanted to see. The room was well equipped with amenities and beverages and breakfast was included in the restaurant.     Early arrival from Stockholm via ship (1100) but Kirsi very kindly arranged for us to check in from 1200 rather than 1500. Alif completed our check in later in a friendly but professional manner, thanks guys.Spacious room with a firm comfortable bed. Bottled water x 1 daily, in room safe, hanging & drawer space, iron & board, centrally controlled air con but requested & received a fan, mini bar, good WiFi, charging points either side of bed.Spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower, good shower pressure, shampoo & gel dispensers in the shower, soap dispensers at the basin, hairdryer.We had breakfast included in our package so could avail of a hot option. Rest of the buffet was fine with cereal, breads, hams, cheeses, sweet selection. Poor coffee.Friendly, helpful but professional staffExit hotel right & Senate Square & port is 20 minutes’ walk away.Taxi from Viking Line port to hotel €30 (over charged?). Same driver gave a price to airport of €50).Taxi from hotel to airport €38.Recommended.
