Location

150 non-smoking rooms are located on 4 storeys and can be reached by a lift. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Services include a baggage storage service.     8.5 TWA JFK Airport Hotels.

    Second visit to Scandic Helsinki Airport Hotel. First one several years ago had me marveling at the best ribs I had eaten at a hotel including in the USA. So when we had to overnight in Helsinki - it was a natural choice. Firstly we arrived very early and dropped our bags. The lady at Reception was not the most engaged and said our room would be ready around 1pm. So we toddled off on the train to the city. Now for readers - Sunday morning in Helsinki - if you are there - stay at the hotel - what a waste. The train lovely - the city dead. It was like a zombie movie was being filmed there. Cafes don't open for breakfast until after 10am and it was cold so we took the train back to the hotel - enquired at Reception to be told by another person this time that we could have rooms if we paid an additional $20 euro. A bit rich given this is an airport hotel with many goings and comings - if you have rooms available check people in. Anyway onto the room - lovely - not the most spacious but so clean you could roll around naked on the floor and still be as clean as when you started. Honestly this hotel has to be the cleanest ever. The bed comfy enough, TV good, pillows - so so. Bathroom is big and clean but the shower is a little daft in so far as the water runs out the bottom of the shower which is a bit annoying.     We had decided to stay at the Scandic Hotel at the airport due to a very early flight the next morning. This was part of my 40th birthday trip with the family back to my home country. This hotel and it's staff actually made our holiday feel as if it started earlier.The staff were incredibly attentive and polite. Helping me ahead of the flight by printing off my boarding passes I requested via the phone. When there in person they were very nice to my children and any questions we had. 10/10.The room was huge. We had the Junior Suite and it was definitely worth the money. The hand written note may be done for all guests in these rooms but it certainly made us feel special. Along with the lollipops and mini chocolates for the kids. The rooms were spotless. The beds were comfy. TV's a great size. The shower was lovely and refreshing. Some hotels really fail when it comes to the showers. 10/10.Price, well that'll vary I'm sure but we were very happy when we realised what we got for our euros. Considering there was 7 of us. The Bar area was clean and very laid back. The guy behind the bar was lovely and accommodating when me and my son snuck out for a kids mocktail, lemonade and a couple of brownies. Service was spot on. I love that they had board games and connect 4 to play also. Check out was easy and we were left with a smile from another polite member of staff wishing us a nice and safe trip. Recommended to all. I've stayed in many hotels. This is up there for sure! Fantastic.
