  Great room & best front desk staff!!

  We stayed one night at the Arctic Light Hotel and would definitely recommend this place! Arttu was at the front desk when we checked in and ended up working a double shift so he was there when we left - completely wonderful all the way through, we hope he got some rest after we left! Our room was upgraded so we had a private sauna in the room, what a treat! We booked this for the one day to go to an Aurora excurison that night so we checked in and slept a few hours. We also went to the restaurant downstairs for dinner - Artic Restaurant - and it was delicious! Then walked 5 minutes to our excursion to see the lights - got back to the hotel around 12:30 am and Arttu was there - he arranged a bag breakfast for us for our checkout at 3:30 am and arranged a taxi to pick us up. We went up to sleep 2 more hours and when we came down Arttu had our breakfast there, coffee, and our driver all ready to go to the airport. This man made our entire stay perfect. THANK YOU for a great experience. Highly recommend everything about this place.

  Gorgeous hotel with chic laid back vibe. Friendly staff and delicious breakfast.However, the hotel accommodates large group bookings and we had two nights of significantly disturbed sleep until 4am in the morning. The attitude of staff was such is life and we felt dismissed of our concerns.   The Arctic Light Hotel in RovaniemiWe drove down from Levi to Rovaniemi. The drive takes about three hours and is not very taxing. The hotel is situated in the centre of the city and is just off a pedestrian plaza that beckons a nice exploratory wander. The reception is unprepossessing and faces the restaurant. There are a lot of seats available in the lobby, which also doubles up as a catchment for a spill over from the restaurant during breakfast. Check in was quick and we were quickly ushered to our room on the 2nd level. The room was very spacious and was divided into a seating area and a sleeping quarters. Reaching the far corner of the bed requires some manoeuvring, though there is a lot of leg room on the far side. There is adequate storage space, which was very welcome after our experience in Levi. There is a locker in the room. However, it is placed rather inconveniently in the bottom shelf of the wardrobe. There is a chargeable minibar in the room. The bathroom has its own area and has a little powder room attached which gives it a very private air. The amenities are very good. There is a Nespresso machine, as also a kettle. We were initially a bit surprised that no bottled water was available in the room, but then realised that the Finns are very proud of the quality of their tap waterBreakfast was quite a good spread. The omelettes made for my wife were quite tasty and the pancakes that I had were also delicious. Apart from fruits, vegetables, bread pancakes and hash browns, vegetarian options were limited. We ordered room service once. This is available in the evenings from 5pm to 11pm. The interesting part of ordering is that you are able to use your smartphone to scan a QR code and place the order. Though the message said about 40 minutes, the food arrived piping hot in less than 20 minutes. In fact communication to the front desk is also, by WhatsApp messaging or call. There is no intercom service.The view outside the room is unprepossessing. In our case it was a parking lot, though we could glimpse the waterfront in the distance.The hotel is very close to almost everything. We had 3 activities planned for our stay in Rovaniemi. The pick up points for each of those activities was less than 5 minutes walking. A leisurely 5 minute walk leads you to the waterfront. A shopping mall is about 10 minutes away and there are some very nice restaurants in the vicinityCheck out is at 12:00 noon, though they let us check out a half an hour later.   Superb stay

  Staying at the Arctic light hotel now for 3 nights and it is an amazing place to stay. The room is one of the best we have had, an Arctic double room. Loads of room.Breakfast is very good with everything you should want.Used the hotel sauna which was lovely as you hire it for private use for 30 mins.The reception staff can't do enough for you.   Arctic Light Hotel RovaniemiThis review refers to the travel period February 2026 and room 220, traveling as a couple without children. We have normal expectations regarding amenities and food, not luxury travelers. Hotel in generalBoutique-Hotel with 57 rooms on 5-6 floors.The reception, the lounge and the breakfast room are attractively furnished.The Wi-Fi was good, there was no german television.Location is good, in the city center of Rovaniemi, convenient supermarket and most tour companies nearby.We heard from locals that the restaurant in the hotel should be one of the best in Rovaniemi. FoodBreakfast is stunning, everything you can imagine and so many special local food and sweets.The breakfast buffet is available weekdays 7-10 am and weekends 8-11 am, we had booked some early tours and it was no problem to have breakfast a bit earlier than the official times. Room 220We booked a standard room but because we stayed 7 days we got a free upgrade to a room with private sauna and were very happy about that. A small improvement to the light switches would be nice, as the switch illumination cannot be turned off. The beds are very comfortable, but biggest issue was the AC, we turned it totally off, because of the noises, but in the night it startet every 50 minutes with loud noises for 2 minutes so that we wake up nearly every 50 minutes. We told it to the hotel and they tried to fix it, but it seems to be a bigger issue so they can’t fix it during our stay. As an apology, we received typical finnish chocolate from the hotel. Staff/ServiceAbsolutely friendly and tried to take care for our wishes and issues. The hotel is reachable from the airport by uber and bolt in 10 minutes for approximately 15 euros.
