Zero humanity for a pregnancy emergency - AVOID this hotel

    rating11 Mar 2026

I am currently 8 weeks pregnant and was hospitalized with vaginal bleeding. My doctors issued a strict 'NOT FIT TO FLY' certificate for my safety. While I was in a medical crisis, the management of Santa's Hotel Tunturi (Manager Antti) showed a total lack of empathy. They initially led us to believe they would cooperate, but once our provider contacted them, they refused any refund or solution, ignoring the official medical 'Force Majeure' documents. They chose to profit from a high-risk pregnancy emergency instead of acting with basic human decency.Travelers should know that this management values money more than human life and safety. If you face a crisis, they will abandon you. Do not trust them.

Cruel Management: Refused refund for a Medical Emergency (Pregnancy Crisis)

    rating11 Mar 2026

I am compelled to warn potential guests about the unethical management of Santa's Hotel Tunturi. My wife, 8 weeks pregnant, experienced a serious medical emergency (vaginal bleeding) and was issued a strict 'NOT FIT TO FLY' certificate by a State Hospital. We contacted the hotel immediately. A manager named Antti responded in writing, leading us to believe they would cooperate if we initiated the process through our booking provider. However, this was a deceptive stalling tactic. Once the request was officially made due to Medical Force Majeure, the hotel management flatly refused any refund or solution, choosing to profit from a medical crisis instead of showing basic human empathy. It is disgraceful for a hotel to ignore official medical documentation and EU consumer safety principles. If you are looking for a place that values its guests' safety and acts with integrity, stay away from this hotel. Their greed outweighs their humanity.

    Disappointing breakfast

    rating07 Mar 2026

Room had a good outlook, and overall location quite good. Bedding comfortable. Major disappointment in breakfast - not only did we have to go to another building and try to find it, the food was very very very average and disappointing. Staff didn't seem to care but perhaps it was beyond their control. The meals however in the main building was good and they catered well for dietaries. Shame this wasn't the case with breakfast. Customer service wasn't great throughout our stay.

Not good really, more basic than you think

    rating17 Dec 2025

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of the Santa package. I was aware this was going to be 2 star basic, we were ready for that, but I feel what we really encountered was probably worse.Spread across various blocks and buildings, we were set quite a way from the main building, but that wasn’t an issue. Our room, 260 was the room closest to the block entrance, great we thought, until… we were affected terribly by the crashing of the doors all evening, stamping of boots cleaning snow from them directly behind our bedroom. It was endless and just awful. The room was tiny, 4 beds, it’s not an exaggeration to say you could barely walk around the room to get into the beds. I would agree with the other comments about temperature being uncontrollable. I would also agree about the pillows, very uncomfortable. The food was pretty poor to be honest, I would agree with others that it fell far below expectations. One night we just ate out at a restaurant to avoid it. Breakfast the same really. Drinks expensive as you’d expect for half board. We sort of suffered this for the greater good because of the kids, but after night one I was ready to quit and move! But because it was just 2 nights we persevered and sucked it up.We turned down the holiday club because I thought it looked poor, but ended up here, getting the same. I also noted that the holiday club guests were sent to this hotel to have their festive dinner, so we wouldn’t have been any better off.Sorry guys, you can do better than this, it wouldn’t take much to update things and get it right, but as it stands I feel they’ve got you captured with the package and the Santa experience which means they don’t have to try when the numbers are there.

    DIABOLICAL FOOD !

    rating14 Dec 2025

I have no problem with ‘basic’ but ‘basic’ would be a compliment for this hotel. The most disappointing aspect is the food; the worst food I’ve ever experienced at any hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It’s like prison food, and the ‘restaurant’ - if that’s what you can call it - resembles something from a Victorian Workhouse. Even at the ‘Festive Dinner’ where you would expect a slight upgrade on the slop they’d provided the rest of the time it was arguably even worse. The room was OK in itself but the beds were so uncomfortable I actually went 2 of the 4 nights I was staying there without any sleep at all. The pillows are effectively a big sock stuffed with cotton wool. The room is absolutely baking hot and there’s no way of turning the heating down; so you go from one temperature extreme to the other. At one point I was so hot I actually stood outside in -20 to try to cool down. The room was clean when we arrived but wasn’t cleaned again for the entire time we were there despite the “Please clean my room” sign being left on the outside of the door the entire time. The only thing I like about this hotel is the little pub, but even that is ruined by a child’s play area / ballpit which children just fight and argue in the entire time, running out telling their parents that another kid has thrown a ball at them every couple of minutes.TUI should be embarrassed and ashamed to be associated with this hotel.
