  The most perfect location in Saariselkä. Wiew from the room is spectacular. We stayed at the Aurora sauna suite and it felt like a honeymoon suite with panoramic bathtub. You can see the northern lights and sunset straight from your room. Breakfast is good, plenty of varietes and good coffee. Vinkka, the reception dog is adorable ❤️

  Great experience, the staff is welcoming and friendly, the room was clean and has a drier for your clothes, which is quite convenient. We enjoyed the atmosphere at the bar and restaurant, for example, reading at the fireplace. Although the dinner was on the expensive side, the food was delicious and presentation impeccable. About the location, it's on top of Saariselka, public transport runs until 16h, the hotel offer transport to the city centre and there's a path you can walk as well, but if you want total comfort, I recommend renting a car.

  This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. We are staying here right now in a sauna suite and truly a fantastic room.The experiences are amazing, the staff all go above and beyond to make sure you have a great time. Frank is just a truly amazing guy! The best guide we ever had. Made our night so special,As do all the staff. The hotel reception team are just so helpful and the little touches they added to our holiday were so thoughtful The reception manager wow ! Is the best, she really is so lovely, and the experience team at reception cannot help enough ! They are all so happy in their job, which shows by the way they do everything they can to help you make the most of your experiences.Star Artic has made our holiday so perfect, thoroughly enjoyed all the amazing experiences, from falling over many times on the snowshoes ! to meeting the cutest reindeers and we have the husky tour this afternoon! The food is just amazing! So tasty and had lots of the Finnish food which is so yummy 🤤 We are in a sauna suite, it’s even got a drying cupboard which you can dry your outfits! The supplied winter clothing is exactly what you need and kept us so cosy.If you want a fantastic holiday book star Arctic !!!! It’s truly the best.

  An unforgettable holiday - in a very good way.

  Star Arctic gave us an unforgettable holiday. Our booking was ‘a package’ through a travel company, which included four excursions (snow mobiles, reindeer sledding, husky sledding, Aurora hunting). These were excellently organised through the hotel and were perfect for us. The cold weather gear that the hotel supplied - suit, mittens, socks, balaclava, and boots - kept us cosy. (We wore merino leggings and vests beneath jerseys and put the all-in-one suits on top. We took thin gloves to use with the mittens).Our room (a Scenic View Suite) was comfortable and warm. The staircase is a little tricky - steep with alternating steps - so may not be suitable for everyone, especially if you need the bathroom during the night!We were full board and loved the food. Breakfast and lunch were fine, but the kitchen excelled itself at dinner. We chose from a limited set menu but always found something to our liking. (Mains were vegetarian (gnocchi, risotto) and fish or chicken/quail or red meat (delicious deer on one occasion). The food was unusual, tasty and nicely presented. Staff were very pleasant and friendly. The only thing to brace yourself for is the price of drinks! A large glass of wine is €18, large beer €11, cocktail around €16 and soft drinks €6…but I suspect these are not unusual prices in Finland.The hotel is a little isolated but when the restaurant was so good we wouldn’t have wanted to eat elsewhere anyway. Also, if you’re trying to see the Aurora you want as little light pollution as possible of course! We used the ski bus to go to and from Saariselka town and the ski resort area. This does a circuit a number of times a day and costs €6 for unlimited use for one day.We loved the whole experience and cannot fault the hotel. The reception staff were always on hand to give advice. We can highly recommend using Star Arctic for your Lapland and Northern Lights experience.

  We were lucky - we experienced the amazing northern lights 3 days in a row. We stayed in a room with a sauna, after the sauna we went out of the room to cool down directly into the snow 😀⛄️. The walks from the hotel to Saariselkä were beautiful - snowy countryside ❄️.
